Abstract: An apparatus and method for automatically controlling the power saving function of a computer and a monitor are disclosed herein. The apparatus for automatically controlling the power saving function of a computer and a monitor includes a distance calculation unit, an entry or exit determination unit, and a power saving control unit. The distance calculation unit calculates the distances between two or more beacon devices and a terminal of a user. The entry or exit determination unit determines the entry or exit state of the user by checking a change in a first distance between the terminal and a gate beacon device. The power saving control unit controls the power saving function of the computer and monitor of the user by considering one or more of the entry or exit state and a second distance between the terminal and a user beacon device closest to the computer of the user.

Abstract: The apparatus for dynamic update of a software-based IPTV conditional access system includes: a server master key manager managing a master key and encrypting a conditional access code ID; a conditional access server manager generating and managing a server list, linking and storing an update policy with the conditional access server IDs included in the server list, and controlling execution of the conditional access server; and a conditional access code download server generating an ID map of set of conditional access codes by combining the plurality of conditional access codes and the plurality of conditional access code IDs that are encrypted, and transmitting the ID map of set of conditional access codes and the conditional access code to a receiver.

Abstract: A dynamic user interface (UI) system and method is provided for remote controlling of a legacy device, which is not compatible with a peer-to-peer (P2P) middleware, through a P2P network. The dynamic UI system of the present includes at least one legacy device, a proxy for registering and managing the at least one legacy device and supporting a dynamic remote control user interface using a multi legacy device control protocol, and an edge peer for downloading the dynamic remote control user interface from the proxy and requesting control of the at least one legacy device to the proxy.

Abstract: A peer-to-peer service method and system are provided. The peer-to-peer service method include advertising E-mail address information and service and sharing resource information through a peer-to-peer network at peers, determining whether a peer requesting a service and a peer providing the service are in online state or in offline state on the peer-to-peer network, and providing a peer-to-peer service through an E-mail server when the peer requesting the service or the peer providing the service is in offline state. The peer-to-peer service system and method using an E-mail service are capable of providing a variety of P2P services (e.g., a message exchange, a file exchange, a remote control, etc.) to peers, which are in online state or temporarily in offline state, by using the E-mail in the P2P network environment which manages the connection information of the peers joined to the corresponding service or the indexes of the sharing resources.
