  • Patent number: 8041452
Abstract: A method and system for controlling the flow of postal mail in real-time are provided. The logistical system includes a pre-application processing system, a real-time mail planning and adjusting system, and a real-time working planning and performing system. The pre-application processing system registers bulk mail inputted in a generating system, and generates sending data and quantity data of the registered bulk mail. The real-time mail planning and adjusting system collects predetermined working plan quantities to process the quantity data for respective distribution centers, and allocates temporary vehicles when a quantity for delivery between the distribution centers exceeds processing capacities of the distribution centers. The real-time working planning and performing system uses the quantity data to transfer a quantity of mail for processing to postal distribution centers, and collects and compares working plans from each of the postal distribution centers.

  • Patent number: 6880758
Abstract: In a system for identifying an object having a bar code symbology, a measurement and input unit measure a height and a length of the object and input the measured values into the system. An object image and search region image storage unit stores an image of the object and images of at least two sub blocks from the object. A search region setting unit sets a size of the sub blocks. A region of interest (ROI) generation unit sets a weight and a characteristic value of the sub block. A bar code symbology identification unit searches vertically a bar code region from the ROI and generates a bar code edge region. An information interpretation unit interprets object information corresponding to the bar code edge region. A result process and storage unit processes and stores the interpreted object information.

  • Patent number: 6622133
Abstract: A system and a method for automatic mail operation with four state barcode are provided. An automatic mail operation processing system with four state barcode in accordance with the present invention includes customer barcode supporting system, mail operation supporting system, and automatic sorting system. The customer barcode supporting system converts information into four state barcode and prints the barcode on mail and mail receiving form when a customer supplies the information. The information is necessary for shipping the mail. The mail operation supporting system receives the mail and the mail receiving form, determines postal fee, and reports result of receipt to the customer through the customer barcode supporting system. The automatic sorting system reads the four state barcode on the mail and sorts the mail automatically.

  • Patent number: 6431447
Abstract: This invention is related to a system and a method for reading high precision printed barcodes and their specification verification. The presented invention has a technique of reading both logistic sorting barcode (one or two dimension) and multi-layered structure barcode such as four-state barcode for automatic postal matter sorting. The invention also investigates height of high densely reduced barcodes in more than 3 steps, and precisely measures and reads the values of black bars thickness and white spaces. Previous techniques used laser beam for reading barcodes, but could not read barcodes, which have print density of less than 1/100 mm˜1/1,000 mm unit, and, it was also impossible to read precise specification values in case that barcode specification was composed of length unit indexes. The presented invention overcomes the previous said problems by using a laser diode array.

  • Publication number: 20010010334
Abstract: There is disclosed a method of exactly delivering a mail item and a method of processing the mail item depending on the delivery result. Conventionally, if mail information to be delivered to a recipient is erroneously written, the mail item is automatically sorted based on the erroneous information. Also, if the recipient is unknown, the mail item is manually sorted to return it to the sender. Thus, this conventional method has problems that it requires a lot of time in processing the mail item. In order to overcome these problems, the present invention allows a mail customer to write correct mail information into his/her mail item upon printing of a customer barcode, notifies information on the delivery process to the mail customer, effectively returns a return mail item and notifies information on the processing state to the mail customer.

  • Patent number: 4407090
Abstract: A stuffed toy animal mechanism for simulating foreleg movement and crying includes an air bellows 12 having a whistle 11 mounted between a press plate 2 and arms 8 of a spring wire 9. Levers 4 having foreleg extension plates 6 are pivotable about a fulcrum pin 7 inserted through a support member 3 of the press plate. Upon squeezing the animal body the bellows is compressed to sound the crying whistle, and the forelegs simultaneously swing apart due to the pivoting of the levers.
