    Abstract: Proposed is an emulsion explosive composition containing 80% to 95% by weight of an oxidizing agent aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide, nitrate, and diethylene triamine penta(methylene phosphonic acid) (DTPMPA), 0.1% to 10% by weight of an emulsifier, and 2% to 15% by weight of an oil. The emulsion explosive composition can effectively solve self-gassing problems caused by a reaction between hydrogen peroxide and nitrate.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an emulsion composition for an explosive and to a method of preparing the same, wherein the emulsion composition includes, based on the total weight thereof, 85 to 95 wt % of an oxidizing agent aqueous solution, 0.3 to 5 wt % of an emulsifier, and 3 to 10 wt % of oil, the emulsifier including a PIBSA (polyisobutylene succinic anhydride) amine salt having an acid value of 30 or less and an amine value of 45 to 65, under a precondition that the oxidizing agent aqueous solution includes at least one of industrial ammonium nitrate, agricultural ammonium nitrate and low-specific-gravity ammonium nitrate for an ammonium nitrate fuel oil explosive, which is used without additional filtration or removal of impurities.

    Abstract: The present invention provides molecular switch system methods and compositions for use in regulatable gene expression. The system includes a nucleic acid construct which has a DNA response sequence for a transcriptional regulatory protein operably linked to a promoter, a compound binding sequence in the vicinity of the DNA response sequence, a transgene under the control of the promoter; and a DNA binding compound. In some cases, the molecular switch system further includes a nucleic acid sequence encoding a transcriptional regulatory protein operably linked to a second promoter. The invention further provides a method for screening compounds for the ability to function in the molecular switch system and thereby regulate gene expression.
