  • Patent number: 8641244
Abstract: A lighting apparatus is disclosed. The lighting apparatus is configured such that a light-emitting unit is cooled through movement of air ionized by corona discharge, rather than using a fan that generates noise, resulting in reduced operational noise.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 17, 2010
Date of Patent: February 4, 2014
    Assignee: LG Electronics Inc.
Inventors: Seong Hun Kwon, Sang Cheon Kim, Moon Goo Choi

  • Patent number: 7327665
Abstract: An optical fiber probe generates an electrical potential difference formed between thin metal layers coated thereon to increase a light transmission rate. The optical fiber probe includes a near-field probe having a core transmitting light incident from an external light source and having a circular cone structure formed on an end of the core, and a cladding coated on a surface of the circular cone structure core to protect the core. The optical fiber probe also includes the thin metal layers coated on the near-field probe, symmetrically disposed on opposite sides of the near-field probe, and spaced-apart from each other to generate the electrical potential difference.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 4, 2003
Date of Patent: February 5, 2008
    Assignee: Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co., Ltd.
