  • Publication number: 20230140108
Abstract: Various systems and methods for controlling states of a portable device when connected with a wireless display device are described herein. A portable device is configured to initiate establishment of a wireless connection between the portable device and a wireless display device for the portable device to cast output to the wireless display device; receive an indication of a user absent event, the user absent event triggered by human presence sensing circuitry of the wireless display device; determine whether an exception exists; and control a state of the portable device based on whether the exception exists.

  • Patent number: 10754413
Abstract: A computing device, system and method. The computing device includes a memory storing instructions, and a processing circuitry coupled to the memory. The processing circuitry is configured to execute the instructions to process a first control signal and a second control signal from respective first and second control pins of a computing platform. The processing circuitry is further to transition the computing platform, based on a combination of the first control signal and the second control signal and using at least one voltage pin on the platform, between a low power state and a retention power state without transitioning to an operational power state in between.

  • Publication number: 20180293980
Abstract: System and techniques for visually impaired augmented reality are described herein. An utterance may be received from a user. The utterance may be classified to produce a filter. The user's environment may be classified based on the filter to produce an environmental event. An audible interpretation of the environmental event may be rendered.

  • Publication number: 20180224923
Abstract: Systems and techniques for lower power key phrase detection are disclosed herein. An audio sample may be captured in a power management integrated circuit (PMIC). Here, the PMIC is physically different than a sensor circuit of an integrated system and the PMIC has a lower power leakage than the sensor circuit. The integrated system may be awoken upon a trigger. The audio sample may then be transferred to the integrated system to perform key phrase detection (KPD). The integrated system may be put to sleep in response to completion of the KPD.

  • Patent number: 9620088
Abstract: Technologies for low-power display refresh standby include a computing device with a display such as an LCD panel. The computing device may include a system-on-a-chip (SoC) with a processor, I/O subsystem, display controller, and memory. When the computing device determines that a display image is static, the computing device enters a low-power display refresh standby mode, powering down unneeded components of the SoC such as processor cores, peripheral devices, and memory other than a dedicated display buffer. The display controller may access the dedicated display buffer via the I/O subsystem and output the image to the display. The computing device may power down the I/O subsystem and the dedicated display buffer when a display controller FIFO is full of image data, and periodically power on the I/O subsystem and display buffer to fill the display controller FIFO. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 9584737
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system for provision of supporting content (SC). In general, a device may utilize event information to request SC from an SC provider, and may then present the SC concurrently with an occurrence of the event. The event information may comprise at least an event identifier and a SC provider locator. In response to the request, the SC provider may provide SC configuration data to the device. The SC configuration data may include at least a time, date and location data for the occurrence of the event. At least the time, date and location data may be used to identify an occurrence of the event, upon which the device may synchronize with a start time of the occurrence of the event. The SC may be provided to the device prior to the event or may be streamed during the occurrence of the event.
