  • Patent number: 6860813
Abstract: A game system generates an image from a predetermined viewpoint of a game region and an object for operation by a player on a screen of a display device. A discrimination image of an input device is displayed on the screen. When an image of the game region is changed according to the change of a viewpoint, a correlation between the direction specific to a direction indicating section of the input device and the direction specific to a direction indicating section of the input device and the direction specific to the game region in the screen is constantly maintained irrespective of such the change so that the direction specific to the game region in the screen substantially coincides with the direction specific to the direction indicating section grasped from the discrimination image.

  • Patent number: 6666770
Abstract: A card game involving a high degree of strategy can be performed because card merge and reinforcement processing brought about by placing a plurality of cards is executed during a hand card process sequence prior to placement of each card on an arena area. Furthermore, it is possible with a game system and a recording medium to avoid to overuse face-down placement of specific cards that bring about specific effects, such as merges, reinforcement. Such overusing can be accomplished by imposing taxes on each player against merges and reinforcement involving a plural number of cards in the hand card sequence, and also against the face down placement of the specific cards.

  • Patent number: 6595851
Abstract: In a game system having inherent identification data assigned to each of memory card devices, novel cards can be generated by comparing the inherent identification data with a password given as an input signal. Thus, the inherent identification data can have functions other than a product identification function. Specifically, when a predetermined correlation is obtained as a result of this comparison between the inherent identification data and the password, a specific card determined by the correlation is generated as the novel card in a lottery style. The specific card can be used in a card game implemented by a game device main unit.

  • Patent number: 6547665
Abstract: In a video game program executed by a video game device, comprising a first external storage device storing a video game program and a second external storage device storing data generated by executing the video game program, a game character is generated by referencing character data indicating the status of the game character. If the data generated by the video game program and stored in the second external storage device is called user data, then the video game program generates the game character by referencing data other than the user data, according to the state of the second external storage device.

  • Patent number: 6544119
Abstract: A game control method of the invention provides an effective card in a card game, according to a speed of player's card drawing operation. Firstly, the operation is detected and a speed of the operation is calculated. Then, the speed is compared with a predetermined speed such as a previous average speed to determine the difference. On the other hand, an appearance card table defines types of cards to be provided for each game situation and the difference. The method determines a card to be supplied to the player in response to the operation, by referring to the table according to the game situation and the difference.

  • Publication number: 20020187832
Abstract: A game system generates an image produced by scanning from a predetermined viewpoint a game region and an object targeted for operation of a player located in the game region, and displays the produced image on a screen of a display device. In this game system, a discrimination image simulating an appearance of an input device is displayed on the screen. When an image of the game region is changed according to the change of a viewpoint, a correlation between the direction specific to a direction indicating section of the input device and the direction specific to the game region in the screen is constantly maintained irrespective of such the change. Then, the orientation in the screen of the discrimination image is changed together with a change of the image in the game region so that the direction specific to the game region in the screen substantially coincides with the direction specific to the direction indicating section grasped from the discrimination image.

  • Patent number: 6267678
Abstract: In a game system comprising a plurality of game machines that are different in structure from each other and that have wireless communication functions, a game can be enjoyed by the different game machines under a common playing environment using the same items. To this end, only element information related to the game executed by one game machine is transferred to another game machine in the form of a wireless signal or an infrared ray signal. The element information is representative of the items and is converted by another game machine into images representative of items corresponding to the element information. The game may be, for example, a card game which has a wide variety of cards numbered and identified by card numbers assigned thereto. The element information may include the card numbers.
