Abstract: A cartridge case includes a case main body, a tape reel that includes a hub in the shape of a bottomed-cylinder and is rotatably enclosed inside the case main body, and a locking member on whose base part ring-shaped first teeth are formed, which is energized toward an inner surface of a base plate of the hub, is enclosed within the case main body so as to be capable of moving in a direction toward and away from the base plate, and restricts rotation of the tape reel. The tape reel includes a plurality of arc-shaped convex parts that are disposed on a circle about an axis of the hub on the inner surface of the base plate and support the locking member that has moved toward the base plate. Second teeth that engage the first teeth are formed on an upper part of at least one of the convex parts. A contact surface that contacts edges of the first teeth without engaging the first teeth is formed on an upper part of at least one of the convex parts.

Abstract: A cartridge case includes a case main body, a tape reel having a hub including a first teeth portion and accommodated in the case main body, and a lock member including a second teeth portion engaged with the first teeth portion, wherein the lock member includes at least one of an inner peripheral projection formed to an inner peripheral side of the second teeth portion, projecting toward the bottom plate beyond the second teeth portion, and engaged with the tape reel on the inner peripheral side of the first teeth portion when the first teeth portion is engaged with the second teeth portion and an outer peripheral projection formed to the outer peripheral side of the second teeth portion, projecting toward the bottom plate beyond the second teeth portion, and engaged with the tape reel on the outer peripheral side of the first teeth portion in the above engaged state, thereby the tape reel can be securely locked without loosening a magnetic tape.

Abstract: Disclosed is a tape cartridge capable of preventing emission of abnormal sounds and chipping of a tooth in a brake lock member and preventing emission of vibrating sounds and occurrence of abrasion at a usage time when a reel hub unit rotates at a high rotating speed because of being increased in capacity or at a producing time when the reel hub unit rotates at the high rotating speed for rewinding a tape-shaped recording medium.

Abstract: A disc cartridge is constructed so that disc access to a recording medium enclosed within the disc cartridge via an opening in the cartridge case is restricted by a disc tray and a shutter member disposed inside the cartridge case. The shutter member is rotatably attached to one of the disc tray and the cartridge case, and detachment of the shutter member is restricted at least in a range of rotation of the shutter member between a position where the shutter member covers part of the opening and a position where the shutter member has been withdrawn from the opening. Attachment of the shutter member is carried out without crimping.

Abstract: A disc cartridge includes a disc-shaped recording medium accommodated in a cartridge main body having a lower shell and an upper shell overlapping each other, a disc access opening formed from one outside edge part of the lower shell to a central portion thereof to expose a belt-shaped region of the disc-shaped recording medium accommodated in the cartridge main body from the central region thereof to at least the outside edge part region thereof, and a reinforcing member formed independently of the upper shell and fixed to the inner surface of the upper shell so as to cross a portion located at the outside edge part of the lower shell in the disc access opening at the position where the reinforcing member does not overlap the disc-shaped recording medium accommodated in the cartridge main body in the thickness direction thereof.

Abstract: A tape reel includes: a hub in the shape of a bottomed-cylinder with a disc-like lower flange integrally formed at a lower end thereof and an opening formed at an upper end thereof; and an upper flange that is disc-like, has a center hole formed therein, and has a ring-shaped protrusion formed so as to protrude at a rim of the center hole, the protrusion being fitted into and fixed at the opening of the hub. The hub includes a plurality of reinforcing ribs that are respectively formed in an up-down direction on an inner circumferential surface of the hub.

Abstract: A tape cartridge includes a leader pin that is fixed to an end of a magnetic tape, a case main body that is composed of an upper case and a lower case, has a tape withdrawal opening through which the magnetic tape can be withdrawn formed in a side surface thereof, and has leader pin storage parts capable of respectively storing an upper end and a lower end of the leader pin formed in the upper case and the lower case in a vicinity of the tape withdrawal opening, and a spring member that is disposed in the case main body, regulates movement of the leader pin by having contact surfaces thereof contact or be near to side surfaces of both the end parts of the leader pin that are stored in the leader pin storage parts, and elastically deforms when the leader pin is withdrawn to stop regulating the movement. The contact surfaces of the spring member are curved towards central parts thereof so as to project towards the side surfaces.

Abstract: A disc cartridge capable of permitting a hub to be constantly rotated about the center of rotation thereof without any eccentricity, to thereby ensure smooth and stable rotation of the disc. The hub is formed with three drive shaft inserting holes in a manner to be spaced from each other at equal intervals and positioned on a concentric circle of a predetermined radius defined about a center of rotation of the hub. The drive shaft inserting holes each are formed with a linear driven surface which is adapted to be contacted with a drive shaft inserted into the hole. The driven surface may be arranged at an angle of -30 to +30 degrees with respect to the center of rotation of the hub.

Abstract: An elastic lifter arranged on an inner surface of a casing of a disc cartridge to exert a pressing force on a disc is formed integrally with the casing and into a plate-like shape in such a manner that a proximal end thereof is connected to the casing and a distal end thereof is rendered free. Such construction permits the pressing force to be kept constant for a long period of time and effectively prevents damage to the disc, to thereby substantially improve durability and reliability of the disc cartridge while significantly decreasing the number of parts, facilitating assembling of the disc cartridge, and attains a decrease in manufacturing cost. The lifter may be formed at a proximal end thereof with a decreased thickness, to thereby facilitate bending of the lifter.

Abstract: A protectively coated sliding member comprises a sliding member body, an anchor layer formed thereon and which consists of (a) a hydrocarbon or hydrocarbon-based plasma polymer film, (b) a diamond-like film, or (c) an ion-plating film of a metal or metallic compound, and a protective coating formed on the anchor layer and which consists of a hydrocarbon or hydrocarbon-based plasma polymer film in case where the anchor layer consists of (a), a diamond or diamond-like film in case of (b), or an ion-plating film of a metallic compound in case of (c). The protective coating is of greater hardness than the anchor layer.

Abstract: A disk cartridge has a case rotatably containing a disk therein and is formed with a driving shaft insertion hole and a plurality of pickup insertion holes. A rotary shutter is provided and rotatably supported by a disk holder disposed around the driving shaft insertion hole to open and close the pickup insertion holes. A turning shutter is provided rotatably about a center separate from a center of the rotary shutter to open and close the driving shaft insertion hole. The disk holder is provided with surfaces for positioning the rotary shutter and the turning shutter. Both of the shutters are held and guided by the disk holder to open and close the driving shaft insertion hole and the pickup insertion holes during charging or removing the disk cartridge into or from a disk player.

Abstract: A disk cartridge has a disk accommodated in a casing having a center aperture and access windows. A pivotal shutter is pivotally mounted for closing the center aperture. A rotary shutter is rotatably mounted for closing the access windows and interlocked with the pivotal shutter. A first slidable member is cooperatively coupled to the rotary shutter, and a second slidable member is opposed to the first slidable member and adapted to be slid upon engagement with a shutter actuating member when a disk drive is loaded with the disk cartridge. The first and second slidable members having racks on their opposed surfaces interlocked through a gear mechanism for transmitting the motion of the second slidable member to the first slidable member, which in turn, drives the rotary shutter.

Abstract: A disk cartridge has a case rotatably containing a disk therein and formed with a driving shaft insertion hole and a plurality of pickup insertion holes. A rotary shutter formed with a plurality of window holes at positions corresponding to the plurality of pickup insertion holes and rotatably provided at the driving shaft insertion hole as a center is provided. A turning shutter having a center at a position separate from the center of the rotary shutter to be rotatable with respect to the center for opening and closing the driving shaft insertion hole is provided. The turning shutter and the rotary shutter are operated cooperatively by charging or removing the disk cartridge in or from a recording/reproducing disk player to open or close the driving shaft insertion hole and the plurality of pickup insertion holes of the case.

Abstract: A disk cartridge has a casing of resinous material which receives therein a floppy disk in a rotatable manner, the casing being formed by combining upper and lower half casings with the use of connecting ribs formed on the inner surface of at least one of the upper and lower half casings. The upper and lower half casings respectively have an outer circumferential wall at the circumference of the inner surface and an annular rib at the inner portion of the outer circumferential wall so as to define a floppy disk rotating region, wherein projections are formed in the annular rib of the upper half casing. A casing is provided thereon with a slide area which is formed by a slide area defining section of the casing. The slide area is formed with at least one head inserting hole. The slide area defining section is provided on an inner surface thereof with at least one thick-walled portion in a manner to extend along a whole periphery of a portion of the head inserting hole overlapping a sheet-like liner and inwardly project from the inner surface of the casing, so that the liner may be pressed against the disc at a force of a constant level over a wide area of the disc and block a communication between an exterior of the cartridge and its interior through the head inserting hole.

Abstract: A cleaning cassette capable of accomplishing a safe and positive cleaning operation while ensuring smooth and stable running of a cleaning tape. The cleaning cassette includes a tape passing mechanism arranged at a front portion of a casing for ensuring satisfactory traveling of the cleaning tape while reducing contact between the cleaning tape and a head cylinder of a cassette tape deck. The mechanism includes a pair of rollers through which the cleaning tape is passed, a support member for supporting each of the rollers at each of its respective ends such that each roller can rotate and a pair of partitions provided between insertion recesses of the casing.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette capable of effectively preventing separation of a slider from a casing even when it is dropped or any external force is applied thereto, resulting in ensuring its safety and reliability. The magnetic case includes a casing constituted by an upper casing member and a lower casing member and a slider slidably mounted on the lower casing member. Each of side walls of the slider includes a lower portion opposite to an outer surface of a side wall of the lower casing member and an upper portion opposite to an inner surface of the side wall of the upper casing member. The cassette also includes a mechanism for preventing the slider from being disclocated from the casing. The mechanism may be provided by positioning the inner surface of the side wall of the upper casing member inwardly from the outer surface of the side wall of the lower casing member.

Abstract: A disc cartridge and a casing therefore capable of carrying out insertion and removal of a disc with respect to the casing without separating a shutter from the disc cartridge and adversely affecting the disc, with simple operation. The casing includes a casing body constituted by an upper cover member and a lower cover member joined together to form an inner space therein which is adapted to rotatably receive therein a disc having a non-recording section formed at its outer periphery and be separable at rear ends thereof from each other. The casing also includes a pair of guides arranged on both side of a rear portion of an interior of the casing body so as to be opposite to each other. The guides permit insertion and removal of the disc with respect to the casing body to be safely accomplished along the guides through the opened rear end of the casing. The disc cartridge uses such a casing.
