    Abstract: An improved setting and stacking arrangement for setting and stacking articles in a cross-bracing manner. The arrangement has a gripping mechanism which is movable in a transverse and longitudinal direction and rotatable about a vertical axis and also can be lowered and lifted in a vertical direction. The gripping mechanism includes at least one pair of gripper arms having rotary gripper plates at their free ends. The gripper arms are slidably movable on a guide rod of the gripping mechanism and one gripper plate can be rotated by a rotary drive mechanism.
