  • Publication number: 20240133964
Abstract: A method is provided for determining a capacity of a traction battery. The method includes initiating and/or waiting a predetermined time during which a battery current is below a threshold amount. The method proceeds by selecting an OCV characteristic curve from a group of such curves (31-33, 41-43) based on at least two parameters (P1, P2, . . . Pn). At least one parameter (P1) describes a cell characteristic of battery cells used in the traction battery, and at least a second parameter (P2) describes an operating parameter of the traction battery prior to the predetermined time and/or during the predetermined time. The method continues by determining an open circuit voltage of the traction battery after the predetermined time has elapsed and determining the capacity of the battery based on the selected OCV characteristic curve.

  • Publication number: 20240092195
Abstract: A high-voltage device (1) has a high-voltage battery (2), a first high-voltage consumer system (3), at least one second high-voltage consumer system (4), and a charging terminal (6). The high-voltage battery (2) is connected electrically to the first high-voltage consumer system (3) by a main contactor (5), and the high-voltage battery (2) is connected electrically to the charging terminal (6) by a charging contactor (7). The charging contactor (7) is connected to the main contactor (5) in parallel. A first three-point switch (8) is provided and electrically connects the second high-voltage consumer system (4).

  • Publication number: 20230339356
Abstract: A method provides a supply current (303) for high-voltage consumers (114), in which a battery-electric vehicle has a charging power unit with a high-voltage intermediate circuit (110) for charging a high-voltage battery (102). The high-voltage intermediate circuit (110) includes a high-capacity charging device (106), at least one bi-directional power output stage (112a, 112b) having a connection to the high-voltage battery (102), and at least one high-voltage consumer (114). The high-voltage intermediate circuit (110) has a high intermediate circuit capacity at least through the charging device (106). The bi-directional power output stage (112, 112b) is actuated with a pulse width modulation, and, through the at least one bi-directional power output stage (112a, 112b), a supply current (303) is provided from the high-voltage battery (102) to the high-voltage consumer (114) via the high-voltage intermediate circuit (110). The supply current (303) is smoothed due to the high intermediate circuit capacity.

  • Publication number: 20230127297
Abstract: A method is provided for checking the plausibility of insulation monitoring of a high-voltage system (100) of an electric vehicle during the charging of a traction battery of the electric vehicle. The electrical insulation of the high-voltage system (100) is monitored by an insulation monitoring device (101), and a check is carried out cyclically to determine whether a further insulation monitoring device is active on a high-voltage bus of the high-voltage system (100).
