  • Patent number: 5315351
Abstract: An image forming apparatus in which a light amount of an irradiation lamp for exposure or voltage value of a developing bias applied to a developing electrode is adjusted based upon density value of test toner images formed on the surface of the photosensitive member for preventing the occurrence of toner fogging.

  • Patent number: 5159388
Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprising a charging section for uniformly charging a surface of a photoconductive body; an image forming section for forming an image on the photoconductive body charged by the charging section; a detecting section for detecting an influx current flowing to the photoconductive body when the photoconductive body is charged by the charging section; and a control section for controlling the image forming section so as to stabilize a quality of images formed by the image forming section.

  • Patent number: 5122834
Abstract: A developing apparatus comprising: a developing device for contacting an electrostatic image-bearing member with a development mix of toner and carrier particles; a first transporting member for transporting the mix to the developing device, a second transporting member for transporting the mix to the first transporting member; a third transporting member for transporting the mix to the second transporting member such that first and second circulations of the mix are, respectively, formed between the first and second transporting members and between the second and third transporting members; a sensor for producing a concentration signal having a value indicative of the ratio of toner in the mix of the first circulation, which is disposed in the first circulation of the mix; and a toner replenishing device for replenishing toner to the second circulation of the mix in response to the concentration signal such that the toner is replenished from an area except for the area corresponding to the second transportin

  • Patent number: 4819020
Abstract: A fixing roller of the present invention comprising at least an electrically conductive core member and a PFA dispersion layer formed from a polytetrafluoro ethylene perfluoro alkoxy ethylene co-polymer (PFA resin) with carbon black or like conductive material dispersed therein by means of a dispersing agent. A roller of this construction effectively prevents triboelectrically-induced offset caused by the electrostatic attraction of the toner by a surface charge on the outer peripheral surface of the roller. Since the release properties of said roller are superior, offset caused by thermal adhesion of the toner to the roller is also effectively prevented.
