  • Patent number: 5597198
Abstract: An extension member 12 is subassembled to a fender apron 3a, 3b by welding the rear end portion 26 of the extension member 12 to the front end portion 27 of the fender apron 3a, 3b, and the fender apron 3a, 3b is welded to a lamp support panel 2a, 2b in the condition where the interface P between the extension member 12 and the fender apron 3a, 3b is disposed substantially in the front and rear direction of the vehicle body, so that when a load in the front and rear direction is applied to the extension member 12, the load acts as a shearing force on the welded portion S.sub.4 of the extension member 12 and the fender apron 3a, 3b.

  • Patent number: 5378031
Abstract: With the bumper mounting construction in accordance with the present invention, a bumper bracket 10 is disposed on the bottom plate 4b of a side member 4 to form a space 11 expanding toward the front in the front end portion 4a of the side member. On the other hand, a step portion 12 for positioning is disposed at the upper part of the end portion 2b of a bumper stay, and a stopper 13 is protruded at the deep portion of the space 11 corresponding to the step portion for positioning. Thus, when a bumper 1 is installed, the bumper stay 2 is positioned relative to the side member 4 and fixed temporarily thereto by engaging the step portion 12 for positioning with the stopper 13 while the bumper stay 2 is inserted in the space 11 along the bumper bracket 10.

  • Patent number: 4971382
Abstract: A fuel filler door structure is provided with such an arrangement that one end of a toggle spring is adapted to engage with the bracket for the mount of a fuel filler door complete, and the other end of the toggle spring is adapted to engage with the middle portion of a hinge rod extending in a crank-like shape in an offset relationship with a line passing the both ends of the crank shaped hinge rod. By the effect of the toggle spring, the fuel filler door complete may be urged continuously in either way of closing or opening across the dead point of urging effected by the toggle spring.
