  • Patent number: 5437379
Abstract: A merchandise display assembly comprising a frame of posts and struts defining recesses for groups of mens' shirts, by sizes, each recess having a pair of display racks on an extendable slide. The display racks have hinged wickets comprising elongated, channel-shaped trays, with downturned end tabs pivoted to the sidewalls of bases of the racks, and upright supports formed by rods at each end bent to form front and rear legs for supporting the shirts. The front leg has a forward closed-loop bend at its upper end and the rear leg has a laterally offset V-shaped return for rear support, and an integral bend between the legs is clamped against the open end tab of the tray by a rivot which also forms the pivot. An individual rack also shown is for countertop use.

  • Patent number: 5271204
Abstract: An improved merchandise display structure of the type having upright posts and transverse connecting struts, each post having longitudinal series of mounting slots in the bottoms of grooves formed in the sides of the posts to receive hanger brackets and other display accessories as well as panels that can be supported in the grooves in the posts and the struts. The preferred post construction is formed by two identical one-piece strips of lightweight sheet metal that are of generally V-shaped cross-sectional shape, each forming two grooved sides of a square post. The opposite longitudinal edges of each strip are formed as a channel-shaped bend and a tongue for interfitting with the channel-shaped bend of the other strip when turned end-for-end, and are secured together in a stitching operation. Each V-shaped strip has a channel-shaped corner bend simulating a tongue-and-groove joint for symmetry and extra strength.

  • Patent number: 4712286
Abstract: A merchandising display system and the method of making its posts and struts, using pre-decorated strip material having surfaces such as polished metal or wood-grained vinyl that are covered by removable protective strips. A plurality of elongated sections of the strip material are bent longitudinally to form side portions of the desired cross-sectional shape, including overlapping portions defining longitudinal grooves, and are secured together by rivets in the grooves. The overlapping portions are formed with aligned slots and aligned countersunk rivet holes which serve as aligning abutments in the assembly process. The protective strips are slit in the grooves for quick and neat removal. The grooves in the posts have slots for receiving tabs of tightening mechanisms in the ends of the struts, each including a base plate that is movable longitudinally of the strut by a screw mechanism. Different embodiments are shown for the base plates and the guiding of the base plates for sliding on the struts.

  • Patent number: 4133433
Abstract: A system of posts and struts with which a variety of different decorative and utilitarian merchandising display assemblies are made, and display accessories for the assemblies. The posts are hollow and have a plurality of angularly spaced longitudinal grooves with slotted bottom walls, and the struts have mounting brackets adjacent their ends for engagement with the slotted bottom walls, and screw mechanisms for tightening and locking the brackets. The grooves are bounded by longitudinal ribs against which the struts abut, and similar grooves and ribs are provided on the struts to receive panels, both the struts and the posts being covered, between the ribbed grooves, with decorative sheet material. Accessories such as hangers and shelves are mounted on the posts with brackets insertible in the slotted grooves and extending out for supporting engagement with the accessories.

  • Patent number: 4066192
Abstract: A display form having two elongated, three-dimensionally contoured leg-and-hip simulating members for insertion in the legs of a pair of pants, with flexible crease-holding wires extending along the front and back edges of each member, the wires being adjustably mounted on the members to fill out the legs of the pants and hold them taut across the contour of the members. The members are identical moldings having sockets in their adjacent sides near their hip-simulating ends, and are rotatably joined together by a junction block having part-spherical surfaces fitting into the sockets. The members are releasably clamped against the junction block in different angular relations, and the form has mounting sockets in its opposite ends facilitating support of the form in either a normal position or an inverted position.

  • Patent number: 4030645
Abstract: A form for displaying clothing designed to be worn on the upper portion of the human body, and having a torso-shaped section mounted on a stand and provided with removable arm sections. Each of the arm sections has a stud adjacent its upper end that is inclined laterally away from and downwardly with respect to the arm section, and the torso section has sockets that receive the studs and cooperate in guiding the arm sections into the desired position relative to the torso section. The arm sections are composed of relatively rigid material having slick outer surfaces shaped to the desired final shape of the arms of the clothing to be displayed. Thus, as the display form is dressed, the weight and slickness of the arm sections facilitate insertion of the sections in the clothing, and the cooperating studs and sockets position the arms in the desired positions relative to the torso section.
