  • Patent number: 5685977
Abstract: A swimming pool filter apparatus cover providing protection to a pool service technician servicing the filter apparatus, the cover forming a barrier between the technician and the filter apparatus. The filter apparatus is of the type having a central cylindrical body with upper and lower hemispherical portions, and an outwardly protruding flange base, with water inlet and outlet pipes intersecting the cylindrical body. A removable top cap which, when removed, reveals an entrance opening through the upper hemisphere. The technician extends his arm through this opening to remove contaminated sand or other filter material for replacement. The cover consists of a heavy flexible vinyl material having a rectangularly shaped main body to encircle the filter apparatus cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 4116371
Abstract: A metering device includes a fluid receiving chamber disposed above a container when upright, an opening in the receiving chamber for receiving fluid from the container when inverted, a vent tube connecting the ambient to the container interior, and a volume measuring chamber beneath and connected to the receiving chamber via a relatively large fluid passage. The opening has a predetermined spaced relationship above the measuring volume chamber for dumping fluid in excess of the measured volume back into the upright container and a given spaced relationship with respect to the fluid passage. A fluid deflecting shield surrounds the opening which faces away from the fluid flow when the container is uprighted. The shield, the orientation of the opening, and the given spaced relationship are arranged to divert the fluid flowing from the receiving chamber to the fluid passage around the opening.

  • Patent number: 4087016
Abstract: A safety type cap for medicinal and similar containers capable of effecting a tight seal upon the container opening by means of a sealing flange extending laterally from the inner surface of the cap top, and which is deflected centripetally upon contact with the inner surface of the mouth of the container to result in resiliently bowing the top wall of the cap to result in increased outward pressure applied to the flange against the inner mouth surface. The radial thickness of the flange is substantially greater than the thickness of the cap top, so that the flange maintains a substantially undistorted shape during compression.

  • Patent number: 4063666
Abstract: A spout device is connected to a liquid storage container for metering and dispensing a quantity of liquid during each successive inverting of the device and container. The spout device includes a first chamber which is in fluid communication with the stored liquid by way of a volume controlling valve mechanism to receive via gravity a given volume of the liquid determined by the valve mechanism when the container is inverted into a pouring position from an upright initial position. When the container is returned to the upright position the given volume of liquid in the first chamber flows through a connecting dump and vent conduit into a second chamber situated below the first chamber. When the container is once again tipped into the inverted pouring position the liquid in the second chamber pours through a pour spout into a suitable receiver.
