  • Patent number: 11432745
Abstract: A method in gait rehabilitation for detecting a foot being lifted comprises: receiving (102) a plurality of signals from respective pressure sensors (12), mounted beneath a foot of a person, each signal providing a time sequence of values representing asserted pressure; processing the received signals, wherein said processing comprises, for each signal, assigning states to the respective pressure sensor (12) for determining when the foot is being lifted for walking, and wherein said assigning of states comprises: identifying that the sequence of values are maintained above an upper threshold (32) for a duration exceeding a time threshold (36); and upon such identifying assigning a prepared state to the sensor (12); and, when the sensor (12) is in the prepared state, identifying (108) a value below a lower threshold (34) indicating that the foot is potentially lifted; and upon such identifying assigning an unprepared state to the sensor (12); and wherein said processing further comprises, when assigning an unp

  • Patent number: 11288488
Abstract: The invention relates to a fingerprint sensing system and a method of the fingerprint sensing system of enabling authentication of a user based on fingerprint data captured by a fingerprint sensor of the fingerprint sensing system. The method comprises capturing at least one image of a fingerprint of a user's finger contacting the fingerprint sensor, acquiring a stored image comprising impairment data caused by impairments that the fingerprint sensor is subjected to, extracting fingerprint feature data from the captured at least one image, extracting impairment feature data from the acquired image, and comparing at least a subset of the extracted fingerprint feature data to at least a subset of the extracted impairment feature data of the acquired image, and if there is a match the user is not authenticated.

  • Patent number: 11216639
Abstract: The method comprises capturing a plurality of images of a single biometric object during a single activation of a biometric sensor and ranking the images based on a ranking metric value of each of the images to determine a highest ranked image and at least one non-highest ranked image. The method comprises comparing, in a first matching attempt for the biometric object, the highest ranked image to templates of a plurality of pre-stored biometric object templates, wherein a matching metric is determined for each compared template, and generating a match indicating signal when it is determined that at least one of the matching metrics exceeds a matching threshold value. When it is determined that none of the matching metrics exceed the matching threshold value, one of the non-highest ranked images is compared, in a further matching attempt, to templates of the plurality of templates based on the matching metrics.

  • Patent number: 11062113
Abstract: A fingerprint image is acquired, and it is determined if the finger is still touching the sensing surface. When the finger no longer touches the sensing surface, the user is authenticated based on one or several fingerprint image(s) acquired so far. When the finger still touches the sensing surface, a quality measure is determined for the fingerprint image. When a quality of the fingerprint image fulfills a predefined quality criterion, the user is authenticated based on one or several fingerprint images acquired so far. When the quality of the fingerprint image fails to fulfill the predefined quality criterion, a subsequent fingerprint image is acquired. When the finger still touches the sensing surface, and the quality measure indicates that the quality of the subsequent fingerprint image fulfills the predefined quality criterion, the user is authenticated based on one or several fingerprint images acquired so far including the subsequent fingerprint image.
