Publication number: 20230372625Abstract: An ingestible jet injection device for introducing a fluid drug formulation into a gastrointestinal wall portion of a living mammal subject comprises an adaptive nozzle, a drug reservoir in flow communication with the nozzle, and a drive arrangement for pressurizing the fluid drug, the drive arrangement being actuatable from an initial state to a released state. The nozzle comprises an elastomeric nozzle member with an axially fixed, radially distensible outlet channel, the channel being fully collapsed when the drive arrangement is in the initial state thereby providing a sealed outlet from the reservoir. The channel opens when the drive arrangement is actuated and the pressure in the reservoir exceeds a given opening pressure level thereby creating a collimated jet stream of fluid drug adapted to penetrate a gastro-intestinal mucosal surface, the cross-sectional area of the channel adapting in response to variation in reservoir pressure.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2021Publication date: November 23, 2023Inventor: Morten Revsgaard Frederiksen

Patent number: 10773029Abstract: The invention relates to a prefilled injection pen for apportioning multiple set doses of a liquid drug. The injection pen comprises a housing assembly with a removable cap rotatable coupled to the housing assembly such that the user has to rotate the removable cap upon mounting and dismounting the removable cap. Rotation of the removable cap initiates a process in which the proximal end of a needle cannula is first inserted into a cartridge permanently embedded in the housing assembly and thereafter moves the cartridge proximally to thereby pump a predetermined amount of the preservative containing liquid drug from the cartridge and into a cleaning chamber carried by an axially movable shield. The needle cannula is mounted in a needle hub which is arranged to follow rotation of the removable cap and guided helically in relation to the housing assembly such that the needle hub is moved proximally upon rotation of the removable cap.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2017Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Assignee: Novo Nordisk A/SInventors: Simon Munch Pedersen, Lars Eilertsen, Morten Revsgaard Frederiksen, Ruben Archilla, Mattias Ingerslev, Bo Radmer, Rasmus Kann Jensen, Kurt Solgaard
