  • Patent number: 10463807
Abstract: The invention relates to a pre-filled injection device for apportioning a plurality of set doses of a liquid drug comprising. The housing of the injection device supports a non-replaceable cartridge containing the liquid drug. The cartridge is e.g. secured in a cartridge-holder being a part of the housing. A needle assembly comprising a needle cannula secured in a hub is slidable mounted to slide into contact with the cartridge. The tip of the needle cannula is covered by a telescopically movable shield movable from an extended position to a retracted position. The telescopically movable shield supports a cleaning chamber containing a cleaning solvent for cleaning at least the distal tip of the needle cannula between subsequent injections. The distal end of the housing supports a removable protective cap and the telescopically movable shield is guided relatively to the housing and coupled to the protective cap to follow movement of the protective cap.

  • Publication number: 20190282767
Abstract: The invention relates to a prefilled injection pen for apportioning multiple set doses of a liquid drug. The injection pen comprises a housing assembly with a removable cap rotatable coupled to the housing assembly such that the user has to rotate the removable cap upon mounting and dismounting the removable cap. Rotation of the removable cap initiates a process in which the proximal end of a needle cannula is first inserted into a cartridge permanently embedded in the housing assembly and thereafter moves the cartridge proximally to thereby pump a predetermined amount of the preservative containing liquid drug from the cartridge and into a cleaning chamber carried by an axially movable shield. The needle cannula is mounted in a needle hub which is arranged to follow rotation of the removable cap and guided helically in relation to the housing assembly such that the needle hub is moved proximally upon rotation of the removable cap.

  • Patent number: 10226577
Abstract: A drug delivery device is provided comprising a housing having an exterior surface, a drug-filled reservoir with an outlet, drug expelling means, and a flexible sheet. On the flexible sheet is formed or mounted input means adapted to be actuated corresponding to an event indicative of drug being expelled, a display adapted to display a time parameter, a processor, and an energy source. The processor is adapted to, based on input from the detection means, control the display to display a time parameter related to the time the event was detected, and the flexible sheet is attached at least in part to the outer surface of the housing.

  • Publication number: 20190046735
Abstract: The invention relates to a prefilled injection pen for apportioning multiple set doses of a liquid drug. The injection pen comprises a housing structure with a distal part supporting a needle cannula and which distal part is covered by a protective cap between subsequent injections. Further, an axially movable shield for covering the distal tip of the needle cannula between injections is provided. This axially movable shield is rotatable relatively to the housing structure between a first locked position and a second unlocked positon. In the first position, the axially movable shield is prevented from moving proximally and in the second position the axially movable shield is allowed to move proximally. The removable protective cap is rotatably coupled to the housing structure and further comprises means for engaging the axially movable shield.

  • Publication number: 20180243498
Abstract: The invention relates to an injection device for injecting a liquid drug. The injection device comprises a housing assembly supporting a non-removable cartridge having an interior chamber containing the liquid drug to be injected and a reusable needle cannula connected to the cartridge. A needle shield assembly provided with a cleaning chamber containing a volume of a cleaning agent for cleaning at least the distal tip of the needle cannula between subsequent injections is further provided.

  • Publication number: 20180221563
Abstract: The invention relates to a torsion spring driven injection device for apportioning individually set doses of a liquid drug. The injection device has a needle cannula (35) for multiple uses and a cleaning chamber (56) for cleaning the tip of the needle cannula between subsequent injections. The cleaning chamber is filled with preservative containing liquid drug directly from the cartridge (30) in a filling sequence which is executed when the user initiates first use of the injection device. The sequence comprises the step of securing the piston rod guide in an inrotatable position and thereafter moving the cartridge in a proximal direction. Such axial movement of the cartridge without a similar movement of the plunger automatically pumps liquid drug from the cartridge and into the cleaning chamber via the lumen of the needle cannula.

  • Patent number: 8323237
Abstract: A drug mixing and expelling device (1) for mixing a drug with a liquid, thereby forming a reconstituted liquid drug. The device comprises a reservoir (2) containing a liquid, a vial (4) containing a drug, a vial, means (5) for establishing a fluid connection between the reservoir and a vial positioned in the vial adapter (3), means (7, 8) for forcing the liquid from the reservoir to a vial, and means (9) for activating said forcing means during establishment of the fluid connection between the reservoir and the vial. The forcing of liquid into the vial provides a pressure therein, which can be used for infusion of the reconstituted drug directly from the vial. The device also comprises a suction unit (13) for aspiration.
