  • Publication number: 20170108150
Abstract: The present invention relates to flexible metal tube having a length and a longitudinal axis and suitable for forming a carcass of a flexible pipe for transport of hydrocarbons, the metallic tube comprises a plurality of consecutive windings of at least one elongate strip structure comprising a bearing structure and at least one cover flange. The cover flange is intended to cover the gaps which appear when the elongate strip is wound to form the flexible metal tube. When a fluid is flowing in the tube, open gaps may cause formation of vortexes in the flow of fluid which in most cases is undesired.
