  • Patent number: 11548011
Abstract: The disclosure describes systems and methods for separating a plurality of molecular entities with differing densities. The system includes: a pair of magnetic poles of like polarity to provide a magnetic field; and a container holding the plurality of molecular entities in a fluid medium comprising nanoparticles that substantially change a magnetic susceptibility of the fluid medium such that, when the container is placed inside the magnetic field, sufficient gradients in an effective density of the fluid medium are generated inside the container to levitate the plurality of molecular entities to respective layers within the container, each respective layer corresponding to a respective density.

  • Patent number: 11406740
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method of fabricating a skin wound patch includes preparing a biopolymeric solution comprising chitosan, collagen, chondroitin sulfate, elastin, hyaluronic acid, follistatin-like 1 (FSTL-1), iron oxide nanoparticles, and AC2-26 peptide, filtering the biopolymeric solutions through a filter membrane, extruding the biopolymeric solution through an extrusion device to form a nanofibrous composite, collecting the extruded nanofibrous composite on a sterilized plate, and drying the extruded nanofibrous composite into a solid patch. In some embodiments, a skin wound patch includes homogeneously distributed biomolecules, skin materials, pro-inflammatory, and antibacterial agents. In further embodiments, a method of treating a chronic skin wound in a subject in need thereof can include applying any of the patches described herein.
