  • Patent number: 6012258
Abstract: A dominant and secondary component cooperate with an office panel frame to define a light transmitting port through the office panel frame. The dominant component is supported by the office panel frame and the secondary component is supported by the dominant component. The dominant and secondary components cooperate to provide improved safety features and more effectively distribute accidental forces to the office panel frame.

  • Patent number: 5537290
Abstract: The present invention is directed to office panelling systems having a flat electronic display screen is supported to one side of an office panel, with the display screen visible to one side of the panel. An adjustable securing arm supports the display screen and is releasably attached to horizontal rails of the office panel. With this arrangement, the securing arm and display screen can be positioned at different angles and spacings from the office panel, utilizes space more effectively, and allows more efficient use of the work station for other tasks. In a preferred embodiment, the display screen can be released from the securing arm and separately supported on the work surface.

  • Patent number: 5321579
Abstract: The present invention is directed to office panelling systems and, in particular, an office panelling system wherein a flat electronic display screen is incorporated within or directly supported by an office panel, with the display screen visible to one side of the panel. The office panel with the display screen located therein greatly enhances the amount of work space available at an associated work station, which otherwise would have a CRT supported on the work surface. The depth of the work surface can be cut down if the work station is primarily used for a dedicated data entry station or computer work station. In other cases, the computer monitor screen is a flat thin profile screen mounted on an adjustable arm supported at a position adjacent the panel whereby the spacing of the screen from the panel is adjustable by varying the effective length of the arm.

  • Patent number: 4881349
Abstract: Securement and cooperation between panels of an office panelling system is improved by mechanically connecting panels in a manner to maintain a particular orientation and to allow transfer of loads therebetween. The mechanical fasteners are advantageously combined with compressible strips between panels which not only deform during fastening of the fasteners, but engage the panel and distribute the clamping force to a larger area thereby adding structural rigidity.

  • Patent number: 4232724
Abstract: A partition system having partition panels each of which is provided with one or a pair of outwardly directed connector grooves extending vertically from top to bottom of the panes at each end. Each groove is provided with a narrow open mouth and an enlarged interior. The narrow open mouth portion of each groove is oriented so that it is directed at an outward angle with respect to the end of the panel so that the pair of grooves are arranged in an essentially divergent manner. A connection member consisting of a continuous plastic extrusion is provided having a central web portion, and enlarged bulbous rib members extending down either end of the web, the rib members having a shape essentially the same as the cross-section of the connector grooves, and being adapted to be received within the grooves of two adjacent partition panels, whereby the panels may be joined together edge to edge, along either corner of an end of said panels.
