  • Publication number: 20210142951
Abstract: A generator comprises a parallel plate capacitor which in turn is made up of a mobile plate and a stationary plate, the plates facing each other in parallel at their internal faces. The mobile plate moves up and down due to an external mechanical force to increase and decrease the gap between the plates, leading to a change in the capacitance between the mobile plate and the stationary plate. The internal faces of the plates have dielectric surfaces, for example formed by oxidizing. The generator is useful for example for small-scale mobile devices such as wearables, and to any device where motion is available to transform into electricity.

  • Patent number: 10119514
Abstract: An ultracapacitor-based power source includes an ultracapacitor, a charger, output connections and a power source controller. The ultracapacitor-based power source is suitable for backup starting of a starter powered by a starter battery. The charger charges the UC from an energy source. The output connections connect to the starter in parallel with the starter battery. When a start attempt failure occurs, the power source controller connects the UC to the outputs. The connection directs current flow from the UC to the starter, thereby starting the starter from the UC.

  • Patent number: 5497555
Abstract: An electromagnetic percussion device, which includes a housing and an instrument which is connected to, and which extends beyond, the housing. The device further includes a piston body reciprocatable within the housing and adapted to impact the instrument. The piston body includes an intermediate region of a first diameter and an enlarged posterior head of a second diameter, with the second diameter being larger than the first diameter. The device also includes a driving member reciprocatable within the housing. The driving member includes a coupling element for slidably accommodating the head of the piston body, thereby coupling the driving member and the piston body together. A permanent magnet is connected to the driving member. Finally, an electromagnet coil is connected to the housing, the coil being operationally coupled to the permanent magnet so as to cause the reciprocation of the driving member.

  • Patent number: 5404790
Abstract: A firearm with gas operated recharge mechanism, which includes a barrel with internal bore, a slide which is movable with respect to the barrel and which is adapted to operate the components of the firearm as to recharge it. The firearm further includes a cylinder whose interior is connected with the internal bore of the barrel as to receive pressurized gases upon firing and a piston installed in the cylinder and adapted to move rearwardly under the gas pressure as to displace the slide. A return compression spring is associated with the slide. A gas chamber has an inlet and an outlet, the inlet communicating through gas duct with the internal bore of the barrel and the outlet communicating through gas duct with the interior of the cylinder as to connect them.
