  • Publication number: 20180215501
Abstract: A box for both selling batteries and recycling them after use includes a top flap and a bottom flap with windows spanning the box from between them. The windows are evenly spaced across the box and sized to show individual batteries inside the box while preventing the batteries from exiting the box through the windows. A divider is also located in the box. The divider is configured to cradle one of the batteries and obscure one of the windows. The box preserves the batteries in a row, such that when one of the batteries is removed from the first bottom flap, the divider and the remaining batteries slide down away from the top flap and toward the first bottom flap. When the last battery is removed, used, and placed back in the box, all of the batteries can be recycled using the box as a holder.

  • Publication number: 20170081101
Abstract: A display package for securing an electronic consumer product includes a blister sheet with a plastic blister and raised ridges partially surrounding the plastic blister, a cut resistant sheet overlapping the blister sheet to cover at least the back of the plastic blister, and a housing for encasing the blister sheet and cut resistant sheet, the housing having an aperture through which the plastic blister protrudes. The housing has an adhesively sealed peripheral edge for sealing the package. The raised ridges are located inward of the peripheral edge to assist with sealing, while the cut resistant sheet may be adhesively sealed to the peripheral edge to impart tear resistance and rigidity to the package.

  • Patent number: 9108760
Abstract: A hanging display box with a carrying handle is made from a folding cardboard sheet. The cardboard sheet includes a display panel with a window, a substantially transparent plastic material covering the window and having flaps extending substantially beyond the display panel. A top wall attached to the display panel is connected to a hanger panel with an opening, and a bottom wall attached to the display panel is connected to a rear panel also having an opening, so that when the rear panel is folded adjacent the hanger panel, the openings align to form the carrying handle. Side walls attached to the display panel releasably fix the plastic material against the window such that, when the box is opened, the plastic material and cardboard are easily separated and recycled.

  • Publication number: 20120193261
Abstract: A folding insert formed of a single sheet of deformable material includes two side members attached to opposing sides of a spanning member, the side members adapted to fold relative the spanning member and connect by a latch apart from the spanning member. When moved together to be adjoining, the side members define a holder for an impact sensitive item. The assembled folding insert also includes handle portions for grasping the insert, and recessed areas adjacent the impact sensitive item for extraction. Advantageously, a multiplicity of the folding inserts may be stacked prior to use.

  • Publication number: 20070209958
Abstract: Dual use plastic packages for prepackaged retail product are constructed to be recyclable, making the package environment friendly. The package also provides an in-the-package display of the packaged product, and allows for inclusion of advertising and promotional material. The basic package structure is formed of injection molded virgin clarified polypropylene material, a transparent material. In one embodiment a sheet of advertising material is held in a thin narrow sleeve formed on the outside surface of the package, allowing the paper sheet to be withdrawn during recycling operations. In another embodiment, the printed material is printed on the thin plastic sheet, which is clearly recyclable, although recovering a darkened plastic when recycled. A novel lock device is disclosed. Either or both those packages or any other retail packages may include the lock device to prevent the package from being opened in store. In this, the lock device includes a lock bar.

  • Publication number: 20070056872
Abstract: A clamshell package for display and sale of an article at retail contains two principal parts, namely first and second package members. The second package member, called a spinner, defines a cavity for enclosing the article and the first package member supports the second package member in a passage through the front and rear faces of the first package member for manually motivated rotational movement of the second package member relative to the first package member. Axles, integrally formed in the second package member, extend outwardly from opposite sides of that member and mount to journal bearings integrally formed in the first package member.

  • Publication number: 20070012584
Abstract: An album-like package and storage container is formed of two housing sections that pivot into (and out of) mating engagement. To motivate retention of the memory card package for subsequent storage application, one housing section contains multiple open receptacles or compartments for post-sale storage of a number of memory cards. Prior to the sale the housing section need contain only the single memory card being offered. In one embodiment, recessed compartments that hold memory cards are arranged in rows and columns. With an additional feature, recessed ramp regions on the exterior of the package provide a terminus for ends of a protective tape applied about the periphery of the album-like package, making it impossible for a person to remove the tape by hand.

  • Publication number: 20050247581
Abstract: A reusable package and storage album (1) displays and stores a multi-component product, combining the appearance of a blister pak with the security of a vacuformed clamshell package. Two sections (17 & 19) joined by hinges (43 & 45) to a spine (21), formed principally of plastic (11) and paperboard (9) materials, fold into a book or album-like structure to house the product components. Ample advertising space (9) is available on the exterior (3, 2, 21) and interior (23) surfaces for a layer of printed matter (13). The album type storage (17, 37, 19, 23) is helpful, discourages disposal of the packaging, which aids the environment, and allows manufacturer advertising and other printed information to persist beyond the sale. Hinges (43, 45) comprise an inverted rectangular U-shape in section in geometry. Windows (5, 7, 12) may be included to allow a view of the components.
