  • Publication number: 20240131961
Abstract: A motor controller is described that is coupled to a drive motor and a battery pack of a vehicle. The motor controller is configured to determine a maximum discharge current of the battery pack and a rotational velocity of the drive motor. Based on the determined rotational velocity of the drive motor, the motor controller is configured to identify a curve that defines a relationship between the maximum discharge current of the battery pack and a drive current limit of the motor controller. Based on the identified curve and the determined maximum discharge current of the battery pack, the motor controller is configured to determine the drive current limit of the motor controller. The motor controller is further configured to convert a discharge current from the battery pack to a drive current subject to the determined drive current limit and supply the drive current to the drive motor.

  • Patent number: 4153027
Abstract: A fuel pumping apparatus for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine includes an axially movable member urged in one direction against the action of a governor spring by means of a centrifugal weight. A reaction member for the pivot of the weight bears against one member of a dashpot which includes resilient means in the form of a spring acting in opposition to the force exerted by the governor spring. A valve controlled passage including a ball element allows substantially unrestricted flow of liquid into the dashpot chamber when the latter is increased in volume by the action of the spring but a restricted leakage path is provided to control the reduction in volume of the dashpot chamber as the force exerted by the governor spring and the weights increases. The axial setting of the member controls the quantity of fuel which is supplied to an internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 4146003
Abstract: A fuel injection pumping apparatus includes an injection pump and a delivery valve through which fuel flows from the injection pump to an outlet, the apparatus includes a spill passage and a valve for controlling flow through the passage. The position of the valve is determined by the speed of the associated engine and above a predetermined speed flow can occur through the passage so that no fuel flows past the delivery valve. The valve also enables when the engine speed is below a second predetermined value lower than the first predetermined value, flow to take place through the passage.

  • Patent number: 4116186
Abstract: A fuel injection pumping apparatus includes an axially movable member which at one end is acted upon by governor weights and at its other end is acted upon by a spring, the governor weights moving the member in opposition to the spring, the reaction member for the weights comprising a dash-pot containing a further spring and the member being provided with a groove which can register with a port to control the flow of fuel delivered by the pumping apparatus to the associated engine. Also provided on the member is a further groove which is in restricted communication with the groove and which during certain conditions of rapid deceleration of the engine, is brought into communication with the port so as to ensure that under such conditions a restricted flow of fuel takes place to the engine.

  • Patent number: 3936244
Abstract: A fuel pumping apparatus for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine includes an injection pump which delivers fuel through a delivery passage which includes a spring loaded delivery valve. A vent conduit extends from the delivery passage, and communicates with a vent conduit during a delivery stroke of the injection pump. The vent conduit communicates with the delivery passage intermediate the injection pump and the delivery valve, and the vent passage includes a screwed plug at its end and a valve element which is resiliently loaded into contact with a seating. The seating is positioned adjacent the vent conduit so that the amount of fuel in the conduit during normal operation of the apparatus, is as small as possible.
