Abstract: A capsule for mixing together two flowable materials and for applying the resulting mixture to an object, includes: a housing having two compartments for the two flowable materials, a first rupturable separator for separating the two compartments; an applicator at one end of the housing for applying the mixture to the object; a second rupturable separator for separating the second compartment from the applicator; and a plunger at the opposite end of the housing and manually depressible therein to force the flowable material in that compartment to rupture the first separator, to flow into the other compartment, to mix with the flowable material therein, to force the mixture to rupture the second separator, and to exit therefrom via the applicator. The applicator is coupled to the one end of the housing by a quickly-attachable and quickly-detachable connector to enable the capsule to be conveniently used with applicators of different configurations.

Abstract: A face mask particularly for dentists includes a masking band sized and configured to cover at least the mouth and nasal regions of the wearer; and a separate strip attached at its opposite ends to the opposite ends of the masking band. The intermediate portion of the separate strip carries an illustration of a smiling mouth in the mouth region, and is unattached to the masking band such that deformations of the masking band to accommodate itself to the face of the wearer is permitted by, and does not affect, the separate strip carrying the illustration of the smiling mouth.

Abstract: A holder for holding a substance to be applied by a user to a selected surface, includes a base member constructed for removably receiving a strip-type blister package having at least one compartment containing the substance to be applied by the user, and a finger-shaped mounting member joined to the base member for mounting the base member, and the strip-type blister package when received thereon, to a finger of the user to facilitate application of the substance of the blister package to the selected surface. Also described is a blister package containing a substance, particularly a dental substance, to be applied by a user to a selected surface, including a stiff base strip formed with at least a first compartment containing the substance to be applied to the selected surface, and with a second compartment containing a bonding agent first to be applied to the surface; and an overlying film bonded to the stiff base strip.

Abstract: The present invention concerns totally solid amalgamating compositions particularly useful in the preparation of dental amalgams for filling cavities and similar dental applications, comprising one or more solid amalgamating alloys, metals and/or intermetallic compounds or combinations thereof, amalgam forming compositions containing such totally solid amalgamating compositions, methods for producing dental amalgams with such totally solid amalgamating compositions or amalgam forming compositions containing them, and denial amalgams produced thereby.
