  • Publication number: 20150044147
Abstract: The composition for management of periodontal diseases includes a gel matrix having a polymer system and a plurality of microspheres dispersed in the polymer system. The polymer system contains about one-half a dose of medicament, while the microspheres contain the remainder. Upon administration of the composition into the periodontal cavity, the medicament in the polymer system provides an initial therapeutic benefit, while the remainder of the medication is released over time via degradation of the microspheres. This biphasic pattern of medicament delivery provides increased efficacy of the medicament through sustained delivery of the same.

  • Patent number: 6851414
Abstract: A device and method to extend the useful lubricant life in a diesel engine equipped with an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system consisting of placing a chemical filter in an area of relatively higher humidity either in the EGR stream or near the intake manifold. In some cases, placing chemical filters in both locations would be preferred. This device may also be used in combination with a chemical filter placed in the lubricant recirculation system which produces a synergistic effect beyond the individual effects of either component.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 15, 2003
Date of Patent: February 8, 2005
Assignee: ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company
Inventors: Jason Zhisheng Gao, Mahmoud Mostafa Hafez, Riccardo Conti
  • Publication number: 20040106527
Abstract: This invention relates to a lubricating oil composition used in conjunction with a gasoline fuel having a sulphur content of less than 10 ppm by weight, characterised in that said oil composition has a phosphorus content of no more than 0.05% by weight. The feature of the invention is that the use of a low sulphur fuel enables the amount of anti-wear agents containing phosphorus such as eg ZDDP to be halved without any adverse effect on the anti-wear performance of the lubricating oil.

  • Patent number: 6376435
Abstract: A binary two phase engine oil composition having two substantially immiscible liquid phases exhibits improved fuel economy which is maintained over an extended period. The first liquid phase comprises a base oil, natural or synthetic. The second liquid phase is a polar organic liquid, preferably a complex alcohol ester, preferably derived from a polyol, a polybasic acid, and a monohydric alcohol.
