  • Publication number: 20240044705
Abstract: A spectrometer system is described. The system comprises a signal input port and a pump input port, respective signal and pump dispersion fibers, a nonlinear optical fiber section, and an output dispersion fiber. The dispersion fibers are configured to apply predetermined spectral dispersion on light input associated with signal and pump inputs. The nonlinear optical fiber section is configured to receive dispersed signal and pump waves and enable nonlinear interaction between the signal and pump waves. The output dispersion fiber is configured to receive light resulting from said nonlinear interaction and apply predetermined dispersion to the received light, thereby providing output light having mapping between time and spectral components of the input signal. Wherein at least one of the signal input port and pump input port comprises temporal speckle generating unit configured to affect optical pulses passing through to induce temporal speckles within said optical pulses.

  • Publication number: 20190319788
Abstract: A method for use in encryption of optical signal is presented. The method comprising: providing an input optical signal; providing a pump optical signal having a predetermined wavelength and amplitude profile, and interacting said pump optical signal with said input optical signal to thereby generating an encrypted output idler/signal. Further, the invention presents a method of deciphering optical signal comprising: receiving an encrypted input optical signal, providing a decipher pump optical signal having a predetermined wavelength and selected amplitude profile, and interacting said encrypted input optical signal with said decipher pump optical signal providing an output/idler signal; and applying a reverse chirp to said idler signal to provide a deciphered output signal in a form of one or more series of pulses.

  • Patent number: 8797532
Abstract: Measuring polarization profile along an input optical beam cross-section using an optical system includes a polarization beam splitting assembly for splitting the input beam into a predetermined number of beam components with a predetermined polarization relation between them, and including a polarization beam splitter in an optical path of the input beam splitting it into beam components having a polarization relationship and a birefringent element in an optical path of the beam components for splitting each of them into a pair of beams having ordinary and extraordinary polarizations, thereby producing the predetermined number of output beam components. The pixel matrix is located in substantially non-intersecting optical paths of the output beam components and generates a number of output data pieces indicative of intensity distribution within the output beam components and data contained therein being indicative of the polarization profile along the input beam cross-section.

  • Publication number: 20130010295
Abstract: A system and method are presented for use in measuring polarization of an optical beam. The system is configured and operable for determining polarization profile along a cross section of the input optical beam, and comprises an optical system and a pixel matrix. The optical system comprises a polarization beam splitting assembly configured and operable for splitting said input optical beam into a predetermined number of beam components with a predetermined polarization relation between them, the polarization beam splitting assembly comprising a first polarization beam splitter in an optical path of the input optical beam splitting said input optical beam into a first plurality of beam components with a certain polarization relation between them and a birefringent element in an optical path of said first plurality of the beam components for splitting each of them into a pair of beams having ordinary and extraordinary polarizations, thereby producing said predetermined number of output beam components.
