  • Patent number: 7663792
Abstract: A reflection mirror unit for a document on a platen includes first and second reflection mirrors, a base frame formed of a plate member and having a sliding portion adapted to slidably engage a guide rail located in a sub-scanning direction for the document on the platen, and a mirror support frame formed of a plate member. The mirror support frame includes a mirror mounting portion for supporting the first and second reflection mirrors opposite to each other with a predetermined angle. First and second coupling portions are formed on the base frame and the mirror support frame to couple together.

  • Patent number: 7637501
Abstract: A document feeding device includes an upstream guide member that forms an upstream side of a document conveying path along which a document is guided from a sheet feeding tray to a platen, and a downstream guide member located between the upstream guide member and the platen. The document feeding device has a guide moving mechanism that slidably moves the downstream guide member away from an opposite guide member located opposite the downstream guide member upon a pivoting operation of the upstream guide member. Consequently, even if the document conveyed toward the platen is, for example, inappropriately conveyed to cause jamming, the document can be easily removed without being damaged.

  • Patent number: 7212321
Abstract: An automatic document feed device having reading means for stopping a conveyed document to a reading position on a platen and sequentially reading images of two sides of the document one side by one, includes an adjusting unit, provided upstream of the reading position on the platen, for adjusting an edge of the document, wherein the adjusting unit have a function for adjusting the edge of the document which is fed to read one side, and for reversing the document through the platen and adjusting the edge of the document which is fed again to read the other side of the document. A feed unit includes one of feed guide members and a feed roller in the feed path. The feed path unit is rotatably supported, thereby enabling the feed path to open.

  • Patent number: 6603950
Abstract: A sheet feeding apparatus includes a transport unit to transport a sheet to an image reading position, and a support frame having a sheet stacker unit to store sheets, which are made of a plastic, and a hinge member is attached to the support frame for opening and closing the support frame. A motor mounting member for supporting a motor to provide a driving force to a transport member of the transport unit is attached to the support frame between the hinge member and the transport unit as a frame reinforcement. Also, the hinge member, motor mounting member and transport unit are fixed by a connecting member, and motors are arrange on both sides of the hinge member. The structure prevents deformation of a sheet feeding apparatus with a plastic frame and improves reading accuracy while being compact and lightweight.
