Patent number: 7597315Abstract: A sheet package to be set in a sheet storage unit of a printer includes a stack of sheets and a package member covering the stack of sheets. The sheets are supplied from the sheet package to the printer along a sheet feed direction. The package member has a side part being in parallel with the sheet feed direction and having an edge at its front in the sheet feed direction. The side part is structured so that a projecting part of the sheet storage unit secures the position of the package member by contacting the front edge of the side part and the side edge of the stack of sheets when the package member is placed in the sheet storage unit relative to the sheet feed direction.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2003Date of Patent: October 6, 2009Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Minoru Yamamoto, Terumasa Hoshino, Motoaki Yamanashi

Publication number: 20060012110Abstract: A sheet package (9) to be set in a sheet storage unit (6, 106) of a printer (1) for supplying the printer with sheets comprises a stack of sheets (7) and a package member (8) covering the stack of sheets. When the sheet package (9) is set in the printer (1), the sheets (7) are supplied from the sheet package (9) to the printer (1) along a sheet feed direction. The package member (8) has a side part (53) spreading in parallel with the sheet feed direction and having an edge at its front in the sheet feed direction. On a side wall of the sheet storage unit (6, 106), a pressing member (41) for pressing a side face of the stack of sheets (7) is formed in order to align the stack of sheets (7) in a direction orthogonal to the sheet feed direction. The side part (53) places the package member at a proper position in the sheet storage unit (6, 106) in regard to the sheet feed direction by letting the edge make contact with the pressing member (41).Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2003Publication date: January 19, 2006Applicant: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Minoru Yamamoto, Terumasa Hoshino, Motoaki Yamanashi

Patent number: 5835676Abstract: An apparatus for driving an electric motor, including a full-wave rectifier which rectifies an alternating current supplied from an alternating-current power supply, and supplies a full-wave rectified current to the motor, a chopper which chops the full-wave rectified current supplied from the rectifier to the motor so that the chopped current is applied to the motor, and a control device which generates a chopping pulse signal having a first signal characteristic corresponding to a given motor control target and a second signal characteristic to reduce an alternating-current component of the full-wave rectified current supplied to the motor, the control device supplying the chopping pulse signal to the chopper so that the chopper chops the full-wave rectified current according to the chopping pulse signal.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1995Date of Patent: November 10, 1998Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yoshiaki Komatsu, Motoaki Yamanashi

Patent number: 5829893Abstract: A printing device includes a casing housing a sheet-feed mechanism for transporting a print medium and a carriage transporting mechanism for reciprocally moving a carriage in a main scanning direction. A print unit having a print head is detachably attached to the carriage. The print unit is capable of printing whether attached or detached from the carriage. A detection unit is provided for determining whether the print unit is attached to the carriage. The casing can be formed with a hollow space in which the print unit can be stored when the print device is not being used.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1997Date of Patent: November 3, 1998Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Naohisa Kinoshita, Yoshiki Katayama, Motoaki Yamanashi, Masatoshi Kokubo

Patent number: 5066985Abstract: A color image recording apparatus for recording a color image of an original document on a photosensitive paper using at least yellow, magenta and cyan liquid toners respectively containing yellow, magenta and cyan color materials as primary color components. At least one of the three liquid toners contains foreign color materials which are the primary color components of the rest of two liquid toners. To reproduce the color image of the original document with maximum possible fidelity, a disk-shaped rotary filter is provided for receiving imaging light separated into blue, green and red light components and changing light transmission rates passing through the filter so as to be equal to the proportion of the color material to be reproduced which is contained in the yellow, magenta and cyan liquid toners. The light transmission rates are changed each time when one of the yellow, magenta and cyan liquid toners is used.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1990Date of Patent: November 19, 1991Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Motoaki Yamanashi
