  • Patent number: 7085019
Abstract: The present invention relates to a facsimile apparatus for providing a single/dual side mixture mode capable of transmitting and receiving original images including single/dual side mixture efficiently. Under control of a CPU 22, information indicating presence/absence of back side image information corresponding to transmission/reception image information is informed together with page number and image front/back information, by a post message signal transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver. If the image information read from a back side of an original is substantially entire-white, the transmitter omits transmission of back side image information having the entire-white. In this case, by informing information indicating absence of back side image information corresponding to front side image information from the transmitter to the receiver by the post message signal, single/dual side mixture image informations can be transmitted and received.

  • Patent number: 6473493
Abstract: A communication apparatus receives the identification information of a partner station, and performs a communication operation in accordance with the received identification information. A first detecting unit detects a calling signal. An identification information receiving unit detects the identification information of a calling party upon detection of the calling signal, and a second detecting unit detects whether or not the terminal of the calling party is a data communication terminal. A registration unit registers the identification information of the partner station in a memory, so that whether the partner station is a speech or data communication terminal can be discriminated later. A control unit checks if the identification information receiving unit receives the identification information of the calling party.

  • Patent number: 6463132
Abstract: A communication system in which when an incoming call has arrived, a communication line having the capability of a high sampling rate is automatically selected without assistance of an exchange operator by transmitting an ultra high speed modem indication signal indicating the capability of data communication at an ultra high speed modem rate among the capabilities of a called terminal, and receiving an ultra high speed modem capability signal indicating the capability of an ultra high speed modem of a calling terminal.

  • Patent number: 6388770
Abstract: A facsimile communication system and a communication apparatus reduce a loss time due to the synchronization of transmission/reception and shorten a communication time. They also shorten a communication time in a full duplex communication mode and allow proper switching of the full duplex communication at the transmission/reception replacement. DIS-CFR signals, EOP-DCN signals, NSS-TSI signals and TSI-DCS signals of a facsimile communication protocol are connected by synchronization signals so that the synchronization signals are sent even after the sending of the protocol signal. Thus, the sending of the synchronization signal for one second when the next protocol signal is sent is not necessary and a time required for the protocol signal is shortened.

  • Patent number: 6278774
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to effectively utilize functions of a communication apparatus which can be connected to a communication network providing a call line identification presentation service. In order to achieve this object, setting as to whether or not call line identification presentation is to be performed to a communication destination is switched according to a communication mode at a time of call generation, and a call is actually generated based on the switched and thus selected setting, thereby improving operability in the switching as to whether or not the call line identification presentation is to be performed.
