  • Publication number: 20060206031
Abstract: The present invention may detect a maximum blood pressure and a minimum blood pressure from a viewpoint different from that of a conventional blood pressure measuring method. The present invention propose a strain sensor for blood pressure detection, comprising: a pressure transducer including: a metal thin plate for receiving a beat of a living body; and a strain gauge provided on a surface of the metal thin plate, for detecting a pressure based on the beat propagating through the metal thin plate.

  • Patent number: 7087074
Abstract: This invention discloses a light therapy apparatus which has a curing effect by means of light irradiation and which less stimulates an irradiated portion. The light therapy apparatus according to this invention has a light source (2) and a spectrofilter (5) for substantially blocking, of spectrum components of light emitted from the light source (2), those other than a spectrum component within a predetermined range, and radiates light transmitted through the filter. The spectrofilter (5) has characteristics of transmitting a first wavelength component having a wavelength of about 280 nm to 400 nm and a second wavelength component having a wavelength of not less than about 700 nm, while substantially blocking a wavelength component at least between the first and second wavelength components.

  • Publication number: 20060173366
Abstract: Investigation is made into a cause by which an abnormal result is obtained from an arterial stiffness evaluation apparatus for evaluating a degree of arteriosclerosis based on pulse waves and blood pressures which are detected from an ankle and an upper arm. Provided is an arterial stiffness evaluation apparatus capable of calculating an index of accurate vascular stiffness. A vascular stiffness evaluation apparatus (60) includes: a pulse wave detecting unit (10) including a strain sensor (13); a pulse wave velocity determining unit (30); a blood pressure detecting unit (10); and a vascular stiffness index calculating unit (50) for calculating a vascular stiffness index which serves as an index of vascular stiffness of a living body based on the pulse wave velocity and the blood pressures.
