  • Patent number: 6181516
Abstract: A tape cassette capable of preventing detachment of a lid structure from a casing and reducing a manufacturing cost thereof while being simplified in structure. A lid structure including a front lid, an upper lid and a rear lid is arranged in a manner to open and close with respect to a casing including an upper casing member and a lower casing member. The rear lid is provided on opposite sides thereof with a pair of guide pins, which are movably fitted in guide grooves of the lower casing member, respectively. The rear lid is formed with projections, which are abutted against an upper end of the front lid when the rear lid upwardly opens in association with the front lid, resulting in disengagement of the guide pins from the guide grooves being prevented.

  • Patent number: 5946170
Abstract: A tape cassette capable of ensuring smooth guiding of a reel brake member arranged in a casing while being simplified in structure and exhibiting an attractive appearance sufficient to increase a commercial value thereof. A reel brake member for selectively restraining rotation of tape reels received in a casing is arranged in the casing so as to be engageable with the tape reels to keep a tape from being loosened. Ribs are arranged in an upper casing member in a manner to be remote from gate positions, at which gates of a molding die for molding the casing are located, and contiguous to a rear wall of the upper casing member. A portion of the upper casing member surrounded by the ribs is reduced in thickness as compared to the remaining portion of the upper casing member.

  • Patent number: 5860611
Abstract: A tape cassette capable of exhibiting satisfactory resistance to shock to prevent sagging of a tape. During non-use of a tape cassette, a lock member prevents a reel brake member urged by elastic force so as to be engaged with tape reels from being moved in a lock release direction due to shock. When the tape cassette is charged in a recording and reproducing apparatus, the lock member is actuated by a lock release element of the apparatus, to thereby release the reel brake member from engagement with the lock member.

  • Patent number: 5797555
Abstract: A tape cassette capable of permitting a parting line during manufacturing of a die for molding a casing thereof to be kept constant to accomplish joining between an upper casing member and a lower casing member with increased accuracy and facilitate incorporation of components for the cassette into the casing. The upper casing member has tapping bosses for screwing provided thereon and having the same height as a peripheral wall thereof. The lower casing member has tapping bosses, at least one of which also functions as a reference hole, and which have a height greater than a peripheral thereof. The tapping bosses of the lower casing member which are arranged on opposite sides of a front portion of the casing are each formed on a peripheral wall thereof with a cutout so as to fit therein a portion of a front wall of the upper casing member.

  • Patent number: 5484058
Abstract: A tape cassette storage container comprisinga main body and an upper-lid, which are adapted to store a tape cassette including a pair of reels with a tape wound thereon, and pressing members urging the reels in a casing of combined upper and lower halves, the pressing members having top ends exposed outside from through holes formed in a window in an upper plate of the casing;wherein the upper lid includes a top plate which has an inner surface formed with pressing projections to urge the pressing members on closure; the pressing projections are made of inner thin-wall cylindrical projections; the top plate of the upper lid has the inner surface formed with outer thick-wall cylindrical projections to be around and close to the inner cylindrical projections; and the outer cylindrical projections have a shorter projection length than the inner cylindrical projections in such a manner to be out of contact with the window of the cassette casing.

  • Patent number: 5417378
Abstract: A tape cassette capable of satisfactorily exhibiting a stable braking function sufficient to prevent tape looseness during non-use of the tape cassette. A release lever is vertically movably arranged in a casing and downwardly forced by a coiled spring. Reel brakes each have a operating cam section against the release lever to be operatively associated therewith. Thus, a release pin provided on a side of a deck for driving or operating the tape cassette is upwardly abutted against a lower surface of the release lever.

  • Patent number: 5232093
Abstract: A tape cassette housing capable of ensuring safety of a tape cassette in non-use of the tape cassette or during storage and transportation of the tape cassette. The tape cassette housing includes a housing body, a cover, a hinge for relatively openably connecting the housing body and cover to each other, and one or two pairs of projections provided on an inner surface of one of the housing body or cover. The projections are arranged in a manner to positionally correspond to pressing members of a tape cassette for holding reels of the tape cassette through the pressing members when the tape cassette housing is closed while receiving the tape cassette therein, to securely hold the pressing members, resulting in rendering the reels immovable in the tape cassette without any clattering. The housing may be provided with a locking mechanism for locking the housing body and cover together when the tape cassette housing is closed, to thereby further enhance safety of the tape cassette.
