  • Publication number: 20050195453
Abstract: A multifunction device includes a look-up table generation portion for generating a look-up table in accordance with a profile of a print mechanism or an image read mechanism and a profile of an apparatus except for the multifunction device, a look-up table memory for storing the generated look-up table, and a color conversion portion for performing a process of color conversion for image data obtained by an input and output interface or the image read mechanism in accordance with the look-up table stored in the look-up table memory.

  • Patent number: 6922261
Abstract: A first reference image as a natural image is displayed on a display, and a first test image including the first reference image and a plurality of first modulated images each obtained by slightly modulating colors of the first reference image is printed. The first modulated image having color tones closest to the first reference image displayed on the display is selected by the operator, and global color correction in a color space is performed on the basis of the first reference image and the selected first modulated image. Further, a second reference image of a single color is also displayed on the display, a second test image including second modulated images is printed, one of the second modulated images is selected, and local color correction in the color space is performed on the basis of the second reference image and the selected second modulated image.

  • Publication number: 20040160454
Abstract: In order to suppress undesired influence of interpolation at the time of color-converting image data, a link file generating program makes a computer execute the steps of coupling a monitor profile and a printer profile to generate a link file linking display-dependent colors (RGB data) to printer-dependent colors (CMYK data), and correcting the link file to adapt a printer-dependent color related to a prescribed one of the display-dependent colors to said prescribed one. Using a display-dependent color as a reference, a printer-dependent color related to the reference color is corrected. Accordingly, a link file can be generated that suppresses the undesired influence of interpolation at the time of color-converting the image data.

  • Publication number: 20030117435
Abstract: A profile creating system has, as profile creating modes, a display mode for the purpose of creating a profile of a display and a printer mode for the purpose of creating a profile of a printer, and one of the modes can be selected. In the display mode, the screen of the display displaying a predetermined reference image is captured by a digital camera, and a computer creates a profile on the basis of the captured image. On the other hand, in the printer mode, a predetermined reference image is printed by the printer, the printed image is photographed by the digital camera, and the computer creates a profile on the basis of the captured image. In such a manner, both of a profile of the display and that of the printer can be created at low cost.

  • Publication number: 20030120365
Abstract: In flicker correction of a moving picture consisting of a plurality of frames, moving averages of accumulative histograms are calculated for each frame on image data. Then, gamma tables for correcting the image data of a frame in the plurality of frames are made such that the accumulative histograms after corrected with the gamma tables match with the moving averages of the accumulative histograms. Then, the image data of the frame in the plurality of frames is corrected with the gamma tables. In some cased, each frame is divided into areas, and the flicker correction is performed for each area if necessary.

  • Publication number: 20030067546
Abstract: At first, average brightness of each of frames of a moving image is calculated by a computer. Following that, a moving average along a time axis is calculated for each of the frames so that moving average brightness is generated as a reference data of brightness. Next, difference data between the average brightness and the moving average brightness are generated. Further, the difference data are grouped based on the signs of the reference data. Then, on the basis of the grouped difference data, it is judged whether an unwanted change of brightness is present. Thus, it is automatically and precisely judged whether the unwanted change of brightness such as a flicker is present in the moving image.

  • Publication number: 20020085740
Abstract: A moving image Vd consists of a plurality of frames F1-F12. A scene change SC of the moving image Vd is detected according to change in each frame regarding to brightness information of image, and the plurality of frames are divided into frame groups FG1 (F1-F8) and FG2 (F9-F12) each having substantially the same scene at the scene change as a boundary. Then, with respect to the frame group FG1, every three frames, F1, F4, F7 are sampled to execute scene determination, and a most frequent scene is determined as a common scene of the frame group. Consequently, scene determination results for sufficiently scene-changed frames F4, F7 interposed between frames F1, F12 of both ends of the frame group FG1 can be utilized, so that it is possible to determine the common scene with high accuracy.
