  • Publication number: 20100006429
Abstract: A sputtering apparatus includes: a film forming chamber that houses a substrate hold so as to be capable of being carried in a horizontal direction; a sputtered particle ejecting section that includes an upper target and a lower target that are disposed so as to face each other and oblique to the substrate, and an opening, and in which sputtered particles are generated from a pair of the targets by plasma, and the sputtered particles are ejected from the opening to the substrate carried from a side adjacent to the upper target to another side adjacent to the lower target; and a slit member that has a slit through which the sputtered particles are selectively passed, and is disposed between the substrate and the sputtered particle ejecting section.

  • Patent number: 7202508
Abstract: A liquid crystal device is provided that comprises a plurality of R colored layers, a plurality of G colored layers, and a plurality of B colored layers that are formed on either one of a pair of substrates and are aligned in a predetermined arrangement in plan view, a light-shielding layer formed between the colored layers, and a plurality of spacers formed on either one of the pair of substrates and protruding toward the other substrate. The plurality of spacers is formed around the B colored layers and/or the R colored layers, but is not formed around the G colored layers. Thus, even if a positional deviation occurs between the substrates, the spacers do not get into the G colored layers.

  • Patent number: 7088417
Abstract: An electrooptic device includes a first substrate 10, wiring 16 provided along one side of the first substrate 10 to extend to another side crossing the one side, and a coating layer 30 coating the wiring 16. Conceivable examples of the electrooptic device include a liquid crystal device, and an EL device. In the liquid crystal device, the coating layer 30 can be formed by a sealing material for bonding together the first substrate 10 and a second substrate 20 opposed to each other. The wiring 16 is coated with the coating layer 30 to be cut off from contact with the outside air.

  • Publication number: 20050253994
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an electro-optic device having a panel structure including an electro-optic material disposed between a pair of substrates, a spacer disposed between the pair of substrates to define the gap therebetween, and a color filter provided on one of the pair of substrates includes forming a substrate region to be used as the panel structure and a peripheral region to be separated from the substrate region on each of a pair of pre-substrates, bonding the pair of pre-substrates together to form a pre-panel structure, and dividing the pre-panel structure to form the panel structure, wherein a stacked structure including the spacer and a colored layer constituting the color filter or a protective film covering the color filter is disposed in the peripheral region of the pre-panel structure.

  • Patent number: 6919948
Abstract: A liquid crystal panel 1 has a configuration in which an element substrate 10 including routing wiring 16 and a counter substrate 20 including scanning lines 25 are adhered with a sealing material 30 therebetween and, in addition, a liquid crystal is injected between both substrates through a liquid crystal injection hole 30a formed in the sealing material 30. The scanning lines 25 are brought into conduction with the routing wiring 16 through conducting particles 32 dispersed in the sealing material 30. However, the scanning lines 25, which have end portions reaching the neighborhood of the liquid crystal injection hole 30a, among the plurality of scanning lines 25, are brought into conduction with the routing wiring 16 through conducting particles 32 dispersed in a vertical conduction portion 37 or through the conducting particles 32 in both the sealing material 30 and the vertical conduction portion 37.
