    Abstract: An electrode mixture for batteries according to one embodiment contains a binder and an active material which is capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium ions. This electrode mixture additionally contains a layered silicate salt compound; and the content of the layered silicate salt compound is more than 0.1% by mass, and preferably less than 0.9% by mass relative to the mass of the active material. One example of the layered silicate salt compound is at least one kind of smectite. In addition, it is preferable that this electrode mixture additionally contains carbon nanotubes.
