    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a telephone system includes a plurality of telephone terminals, a first server apparatus and a second server apparatus. The first server apparatus includes a license authentication module and a transmission controller. The license authentication module performs license authentication by comparing a terminal ID included in a registration request with a terminal ID stored in the license memory. The transmission controller reads from the license memory a license authentication code corresponding to a telephone terminal, and transmits to the telephone terminal a license authentication code added check information.

The memory stores an electric quantity table and a media determining table. The acquisition module acquires remaining information of the battery from the first terminal. The controller refers to the electric quantity table and the media determining table to select a communication media based on the acquired remaining amount information of the battery and consumed electricity by the first terminal. When a request for the first terminal is received, controller assigns the selected communication media to the first terminal, when the battery remaining amount of the first terminal varies during communication, the controller re-determines to change the communication media.

The packet includes source address information therein. A determination is made whether the source address information had been changed from an original address used in the second communication network to a changed address used in the first communication address. The changed address being associated with the terminal is stored and the source address information including the changed address is provided to a terminal connected to the first communication network. Communications are supported using the source address information between the terminal connected to the first communication network and the terminal connected to the second communication network.
