Patent number: 7328800Abstract: The invention provides a cushioning material for packaging that is suitable for packaging an electronic apparatus, an optical apparatus or an electronic apparatus having an optical system mounted therein, and a package that uses the cushioning material for packaging. In the invention, a lower spacer formed of corrugated cardboard, a lower pad, a projector as an article to be packaged that is wrapped in an anti-static bag having electrical conductivity, an upper pad and an upper spacer formed of a corrugated cardboard can be stacked inside a corrugated cardboard box. The upper and lower pads are, respectively, provided with a plurality of upper pad side hollow convex portions and a plurality of lower pad side hollow convex portions protruding in such a fashion as to encompass an accommodation space for the projector. Upper and lower side reinforcing plate portions of the upper and lower spacers, respectively, enter deep into these convex portions.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2002Date of Patent: February 12, 2008Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventor: Motomu Koike

Patent number: 7117993Abstract: The invention provides a packing article where a packing cost and a transportation fee can be kept low and a buffering function is further enhanced. The invention provides a packing article including: a packing box; a lower-side buffering member to provide packing including a concave portion, which is located at the lower side of the packing box, and which locates an item to be packed in the center; an item to be packed, located in the concave portion of the lower-side buffering member to provide packing; and a partition member located on the upper side of the item to be packed and a storing member, which is located between the partition member and the upper surface of the packing box, and which stores an attached part and/or an instruction manual.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2003Date of Patent: October 10, 2006Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventor: Motomu Koike

Patent number: 6877608Abstract: A package cushion member includes an upper pad 10 and a lower pad 20 from which a plurality of upper-pad hollow projections 15 and a plurality of lower-pad hollow projections 25 project so as to surround a storage space for a projector 50, and also adopts a reinforcing pad 30 having bottom-protecting hollow projections 31 which are in contact with recesses 22 of the lower pad 20, and side-reinforcing hollow projections 35 which are inserted halfway into the lower-pad hollow projections 25, when the reinforcing pad 30 is placed under the lower pad 20. This makes it possible to reliably prevent an outer case of a packed object from being broken even when the outer case is easily distorted at the center portion in the thickness direction.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2001Date of Patent: April 12, 2005Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventor: Motomu Koike

Publication number: 20030213725Abstract: The invention provides packages that keep articles to be packaged from losing sufficient shock-proof property when the articles to be packaged are dropped while the trend of compactness and light weight of electronic apparatus is advanced. The package can include a container, a lower-package buffer member, an article to be packaged, and a storing member. The lower-package buffer member is placed on the lower surface side of the container, including a concave area provided in the center thereof to place an article to be packaged therein, a skirt portion provided at the periphery of the concave area so as to surround the concave area, and a plurality of protruding ribs provided under the lower surface of the concave area so as to enhance shock-buffering effect. The article to be packaged can be placed above the upper surface of the concave area of the lower-package buffer member.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2003Publication date: November 20, 2003Applicant: SEIKO EPSON CORPORATIONInventor: Motomu Koike
