  • Patent number: 4407244
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the proportion of air and fuel in the air-fuel mixture of the internal combustion engine includes a carburetor having a main system fuel tube, a main system air-bleeding passage, a slow system fuel tube and a slow system air-bleeding passage, and an electromagnetic control valve having an air-inlet port, a first outlet port communicating with the main system air-bleeding passage and a second outlet port communicating with the slow system air-bleeding passage, and internally provided with a moving-coil type linear motor. The electromagnetic control valve is adapted to cause the first outlet port to start to communicate with the air-inlet port a predetermined period of time after the second outlet port has started communicating with the air-inlet port, when an analog electric signal is applied to the linear motor.

  • Patent number: 4373552
Abstract: An electromagnetic flow control valve assembly comprising a valve body including an inlet port and a plurality of outlet ports, and a valve in said body for controlling fluid communication between the inlet port and the outlet ports; the valve including a plurality of individual passages, each of the passages being in fluid communication with a corresponding one of the outlet ports, a plurality of individual apertures, individual ones of the apertures corresponding to each of the passages for establishing fluid communication between the passages and the inlet port; a hollow iron core disposed in the valve body, an axially movable bobbin slidably mounted on the core, and a coil disposed about the bobbin for simultaneously controlling fluid flow from the inlet port through the apertures in response to electric current applied to the coil.

  • Patent number: 4366835
Abstract: A flow control valve for mounting on the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine for controlling a by-pass passage supplying air to the intake manifold of the engine by operating a solenoid in response to output signals from an O.sub.2 sensor located in the exhaust manifold. A casing which is mounted on the intake manifold to form the by-pass passage is interiorly provided with a movable member which is operated by energization and de-energization of the solenoid and biased to abut against a fixed member in the casing by the action of a first spring when the solenoid is in the de-energized state. Further provided in the casing are a slide member which is slidable along the fixed member and a pressure chamber defined by the diaphragm one peripheral edge of which is secured to the slide member, the pressure chamber being communicated with the intake manifold to receive the intake manifold vacuum therein.
