  • Patent number: 5060064
Abstract: This arrangement for interpolating images by motion estimation and compensation includes a member for estimating motion in blocks (10) to form motion vectors assigned to picture element blocks and an interpolating member (120) for forming an image as a function of the motion vectors. The arrangement furthermore includes an assigning member (50) for assigning a vector from the candidate motion vectors (D.sub.1, D.sub.2, . . . D.sub.L) processed by the estimation member to each picture element.

  • Patent number: 5055925
Abstract: The arrangement has an input (10) to receive a sequence of source pictures, a motion determining circuit (20) to supply a first motion vectors for all the elements of the pictures of the sequence to be processed, a coherence circuit (21) to supply a validation signal (KF) of the first motion vector, and a selection circuit (25), which is controlled by the coherence circuit, to supply a definitive motion vector on the basis of said first motion vector and at least one alternative motion vector. The coherence circuit comprises a first portion (30), to supply a first coherence signal (KS) related to a picture element, from, at least, motion vectors assigned to elements surrounding said picture element, and a second portion (32) to supply a second coherence signal from first coherence signals assigned to elements, corresponding to said element of a plurality of pictures of the sequence to be processed.

  • Patent number: 5023717
Abstract: This arrangement has an input terminal (1, 2 and 3) for receiving pictures in accordance with a first standard, an output terminal (5, 6 and 7) for supplying pictures in accordance with a second standard, motion-compensated interpolation members (10 and 13) disposed between the input terminal and the output terminal and a motion-estimating member (12) for applying motion indications to the interpolation member. The interpolation member is designed for processing each pixel of the picture of the second standard directly from the pictures of the first standard while taking account of the motion indication assigned to each one of the pixels of the picture of the second standard.

  • Patent number: 4879729
Abstract: A circuit for decoding coded frequency modulated signals eliminates perturbing effects of noise pulse signals by coupling the signal to be detected through a filter having a transfer function that is related to the conjugated transfer function of the frequency modulation deemphasis filter, the spectrum of the noise pulse, the spectral power density of the signal to be demodulated, and the spectral power density of the noise. A comparison circuit provides the signal at the output of the filter when the output signal exceeds a threshold level. A decision circuit, which provides signals representative of the temporal position and polarity of the noise pulses to the correction circuit, is coupled between the comparison circuit and a circuit for generating noise correction pulses. The noise correction pulses are coupled to the decoder with the output signal of the detector to eliminate the effects of the noise pulse.

  • Patent number: 4860310
Abstract: A device for decoding a transmitted sequence of duobinary encoded signals, which provides as an output a sequence of binary signals which most probably matches the transmitted sequence of duobinary encoded signals, estimated as a function of the duobinary signals actually received by the device.
