  • Publication number: 20080292662
Abstract: This invention is about vaccine comprising recombinant CLPP protein of Streptococcus pneumoniae. In this study, it was demonstrated that the CLPP was translocated into the cell wall after heat shock. And the immunization of mice with the pneumococcal CLPP prior to challenge with virulent D39 elicited protective immunity against systemic disease to a level comparable to that obtained with the well-characterized pneumococcal protein vaccine candidates, PSPA and Ply. Thus the pneumococcal CLPP can be used as an antigen for vaccine.
