Patent number: 11939352Abstract: Biotransformation of an aromatase inhibitor, testolactone (1), yielded four metabolites, 7?-hydroxy-3-oxo-13,17-seco-5?-androsta-1-eno-17,13?-lactone (2), 3?,11?-dihydroxy-13,17-seco-5?-androsta-17,13?-lactone (3), 4?,5?-epoxy-3?-hydroxy-13,17-secoandrosta-1-eno-17,13?-lactone (4), and 4?,5?-epoxy-3?-hydroxy-13,17-secoandrosta-1-eno-17,13?-lactone (5). Aromatase (estrogen synthase) involves in the synthesis of estrogen, and promotes the growth of breast cancerous cells. It is a key target for the discovery of chemotherapeutic agents against ER+(estrogen-positive) breast-cancers. Metabolites 2 (IC50=8.63±0.402 nM), and 3 (IC50=9.23±1.31 nM) were identified as potent inhibitors against human aromatase enzyme, in comparison to 1 (IC50=0.716±0.031 ?M), and the standard aromatase inhibiting drug, exemestane (IC50=0.232±0.031 ?M). Derivatives 4 (IC50=10.37±0.50 ?M) and 5 (IC50=0.82±0.059 ?M) also showed a good inhibition against aromatase enzyme.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Inventors: Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Atia-tul Wahab, Mahwish Siddiqui, Nimra Naveed Shaikh, Sammer Yousuf, Atta-ur Rahman

Patent number: 10306158Abstract: A lens unit (120) shows longitudinal chromatic aberration and focuses an imaged scene into a first image for the infrared range in a first focal plane and into a second image for the visible range in a second focal plane. An optical element (150) manipulates the modulation transfer function assigned to the first and second images to extend the depth of field. An image processing unit (200) may amplify a modulation transfer function contrast in the first and second images. A focal shift between the focal planes may be compensated for. While in conventional approaches for RGBIR sensors contemporaneously providing both a conventional and an infrared image of the same scene the infrared image is severely out of focus, the present approach provides extended depth of field imaging to rectify the problem of out-of-focus blur for infrared radiation. An imaging system can be realized without any apochromatic lens.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2017Date of Patent: May 28, 2019Assignee: SONY CORPORATIONInventors: Muhammad Atif, Muhammad Siddiqui, Christian Unruh, Markus Kamm

Patent number: 10158832Abstract: A lens and color filter assembly contains lens units, and each lens unit is assigned to a single-color color filter unit. The lens and color filter assembly may be combined with pixel units such that a plurality of monochromatic, low-resolution images can be obtained, and the monochromatic images refer to shifted versions of the same image object. By a super-resolution technique comprising shift-compensation a mosaicked image is obtained which is then demosaiced. In the resultant image only few artifacts appear. Simple color filter arrays allow a simplified fabrication process and provide less chromatic aberrations at less computational effort.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2017Date of Patent: December 18, 2018Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Waqas Malik, Muhammad Siddiqui, Markus Kamm, Manfred Manz

Patent number: 10151933Abstract: An optical system includes an optical element arranged in an optical path of an optical system. A point spread function of the optical element images out-of-focus object points with positive defocus value into image areas oriented along a first radial axis in an image plane and out-of-focus object points with negative defocus value into image areas oriented along a second radial axis in the image plane. A distance of the image areas to an optical axis of the optical system increases with increasing absolute defocus value.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2014Date of Patent: December 11, 2018Assignee: SONY CORPORATIONInventors: Muhammad Siddiqui, Muhammad Arsalan

Patent number: 9979941Abstract: A lens unit of an imaging unit features longitudinal chromatic aberration. From an imaged scene, an imaging sensor unit captures non-color-corrected first images of different spectral content. An intensity processing unit computes broadband luminance sharpness information from the first images on the basis of information descriptive for imaging properties of the lens unit. A chrominance processing unit computes chrominance information on the basis of the first images. A synthesizing unit combines the computed chrominance and luminance information to provide an output image having, for example, extended depth-of-field. The imaging unit may be provided in a camera system, a digital microscope, as examples.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2012Date of Patent: May 22, 2018Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Muhammad Atif, Muhammad Siddiqui, Christian Unruh, Markus Kamm
