    Abstract: A robotic system for surface marking comprises a plotter configured to move along x, y and z axes; a chassis configured to hold a plurality of components of the robotic system; one or more ultrasonic sensors mounted on a periphery of the chassis and configured to detect obstacles during movement of the robotic system; at least three drive members coupled to a motor unit configured to control the movement of the robotic system on a surface; and a computer processor having program instructions for controlling the robotic system. The movement of the robotic system is controlled with the computer processor so as to move the plotter and form a marking on the surface based on a pre-determined surface marking stored in a memory of the computer processor.

    Abstract: A method for sealing a high permeability region in a reservoir is provided. The method includes injecting a gel precursor solution into a high permeability region in a reservoir, injecting a sodium nitrite solution proximate to the high permeability region, and injecting an ammonium chloride solution proximate to the high permeability region. The ammonium chloride solution and the sodium nitrite solution are mixed proximate to the high permeability region. The ammonium chloride solution and the sodium nitrite solution are allowed to react, increasing the temperature of the reservoir proximate to the high permeability region. The gel precursor solution is allowed to react to form a solid gel in the high permeability region.

    Abstract: A method of setting up a teleconferencing system using mobile devices is disclosed. Participants with mobile devices in multiple rooms may communicate based on the disclosed teleconferencing application executed on the mobile devices. Each room has one of the mobile devices designated as a leader device for that room. The leader devices may communicate using VoIP over the Internet. Other mobile devices in a room are designated as client devices associated with the leader devices. Participants operating the client devices can talk to other participants in that room and the other rooms through the client device communicating through the leader device of the room. The leader device synchronizes the playing of received audio between all of the client devices in the room. The leader device includes a selection algorithm that selects one of the devices to act as the microphone for audio signals generated in the room.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for generating a facial recognition system. A facial recognition system can be implemented using a meta-model based on a trained neural network. A neural network can be trained as multiple classifiers that identify individuals using a small number of images of the individual's face. A meta-model can learn from the neural networks to be capable to identify an individual based on a small number of images. In this way, the facial recognition system uses the meta-model that learns from the neural network trained to identify an individual based on a small number of images. Such a facial recognition system is tested to determine any misidentification for fine-tuning the system. A facial recognition system implemented using such a meta-model is capable of adapting the model to learn identities entered into the system using only a small number of images to enroll an identity into the system.
