  • Patent number: 12506512
Abstract: An electric vehicle noise sniffer and methods of mitigating packet flow interruptions by noise cancellation and avoidance of noise region envelopes are provided. A vehicle comprises: electrical component(s) that operate according to data indications: and a power line that conveys the data indications and power to the electrical component(s). A method comprises: determining an electrical characteristic of the data indications on the power line: determining a present electrical characteristic of noise on the power line and/or estimating a future electrical characteristic of the noise on the power line: and causing the data indications to change to a new electrical characteristic different from the present electrical characteristic and the future electrical characteristic of the noise on the power line to avoid interference of the noise with the data indications. The electrical characteristics are one or more of in frequency space, amplitude space and direct current offset space.

  • Patent number: 12187205
Abstract: There is provided a method for actuating a component of a vehicle. The method may include applying an initial force to the component to actuate the component, and generating a movement indicator based on whether the component moves in response to the initial force. Moreover, the method may include receiving a freezing indicator associated with a likelihood of the component being immobilized due to freezing. If the movement indicator is negative and the freezing indicator is affirmative, the method also includes applying an adjusted force to the component to mobilize the component.

  • Publication number: 20240204823
Abstract: There are provided methods and systems for operating electric vehicles. One example method includes generating, at a first component of the electric vehicle, a message in a first communication protocol and converting, at a first conversion module associated with the first component, the message into a power line communication protocol to form a first converted message. The method also includes transmitting the first converted message over a power line connecting the first component to a second component of the electric vehicle, and converting, at a second conversion module associated with the second component, the first converted message into a second communication protocol to form a second converted message. The second communication protocol is used by the second component. In addition, the method includes receiving the second converted message at the second component.

  • Patent number: 11897366
Abstract: There is provided a method for controlling an electric vehicle. The method includes receiving a regenerative braking activation indicator. If the regenerative braking activation indicator is affirmative, the method includes applying regenerative braking at an initial level to an electric motor of the electric vehicle. The method also includes obtaining a vehicle motion parameter of the electric vehicle measured when the regenerative braking is being applied. In addition, the method includes changing the regenerative braking to a modified level based on the vehicle motion parameter.

  • Publication number: 20230182612
Abstract: A battery-powered eclectic lawn mower includes battery packs mounted on a docking stations of a bus bar by way of a gravity-biased engagement. The lawn mower also includes a priority charging control logic for giving priority of charge to battery packs that have a state of charge over a threshold. The lawn mower also includes a live to drive system which alerts the user when the lawn mower is capable of moving in response to manipulation of controls. The lawn mower also includes a variable speed control which adjusts a sensitivity of speed controls such that more precise, slower speed control of the lawn mower is achieved when mowing around trees and the like.

  • Publication number: 20220198591
Abstract: The system and techniques disclosed include a software and/or hardware platform, including computer software applications (apps), a personal injury prevention projector (PIPP) and a backend system that can be used in the realm of property management. The system involves leveraging highly secure data storage mechanisms, such as Blockchain technology. The system can maintain an immutable record of property maintenance complaints and/or notices on the Blockchain to provide secure records (e.g., tamper proof, provides proof of receipt) that can be employed in mitigating fabrication and/or fraudulent claims relating to an owner's receipt (or non-receipt) of notice of a hazard which subsequently causes personal injuries, in order to support the defense of a property owner. The system automates property maintenance complaints and/or notices, recording them in a centralized storage location (e.g., Blockchain), which is usable as proof of receipt for the property owner and presented in a court in admissible form.

  • Patent number: 11165375
Abstract: There is provided a method of controlling an electric motor having a rotor and a stator. The method includes controlling the motor in a low-speed mode by injecting a high frequency (HF) signal into the motor. The HF signal may have an initial voltage and an initial frequency. The method may also include obtaining a speed of the rotor relative to the stator, and obtaining a reference input being sent to the motor. Moreover, the method may include comparing the speed and the reference input with a speed threshold and a reference input threshold respectively. In addition, the method may include reducing at least one of the initial voltage and the initial frequency if the speed is below the speed threshold and the reference input is below the reference input threshold, to reduce an acoustic noise caused by injecting the HF signal into the electric motor.
