  • Publication number: 20250245102
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to efficient processes for recovering a hardware device in a computing system. Generally speaking, embodiments of the present disclosure include a two-part device recovery process. In a first part of the two-part process, an initial firmware image can be provided to the recovery device over a first, slower communication bus of the computing system. This initial image can provide the core for the device to communicate using a second, faster communications by of the computing system. A second part of the two-part process can then take place utilizing the second, faster communication bus.

  • Patent number: 12373027
Abstract: A system that detects the location of a user gaze at a display and in response to the duration of the gaze exceeding a threshold, auto-playing content on the display. The system may also determine gaze event data associating the gaze event with the source of the content the user is gazing at. Other information may also be associated with the gaze event such as user ID, time/duration data, or the like. Various actions can be taken in response to the gaze event such as auto-playing of content, outputting a visual indication of the detected gaze, interpreting detected speech using the gaze event data, data aggregation, etc.

  • Publication number: 20250169991
Abstract: A control panel for an ADF including a series of buttons or actuators arranged in a grid-like array having two rows and three columns and a series of LEDs vertically aligned with one another and located adjacent to the array of buttons. The LEDs may be more centrally located between the first and second sides of the ADF, while the array of buttons may be located more proximate to the second side of the ADF. The control panel may be disposed more proximate to the bottom side of the ADF than the top side of the ADF. Each of the buttons of the array of buttons may extend or protrude from the surface of the control panel. The spacing, arrangement, size, and protruding nature of each of the buttons enables a user wearing welding gloves to easily locate and operate the control panel of the ADF.

  • Patent number: 12082046
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling device use of available networks, e.g., cellular and WiFi, are described. End devices report key performance indicator and resource utilization information, e.g., on a per application basis, to a configuration server. The configuration server determines, based on the received information, e.g., using machine learning and/or artificial intelligence, sets of configuration profiles, each configuration profile including one or more set of applications for which an end device should use a particular network. An exemplary configuration profile may identify a first set of applications for which a first network is to be used, e.g., a cellular network such as a P-LTE network, and a second set of applications for which a second network, e.g. a WiFi network, is to be used. The configuration server selects a configuration profile that is best suited for a particular end device and communicates that selected profile to the end device.

  • Publication number: 20240073790
Abstract: A wireless device (e.g., a cell phone) having a first SIM card for a first (e.g., private) wireless network and a second SIM card for a second (e.g., public) wireless network. The wireless device disables searching for the first wireless network if its current location is outside of a defined coverage region for the first wireless network, thereby saving battery power. The defined coverage region may be defined by minimum and maximum longitude and latitude values that superscribe the overall coverage area of the first wireless network. The network server for the first wireless network transmits a definition of a defined coverage region for the wireless network and automatically updates the defined coverage region when the overall coverage area of the first wireless network is modified, such as when a new access point is added to the network.

  • Patent number: 11729864
Abstract: A network server selects a gateway, from among a plurality of alternative candidate gateways, to use for downlink wireless communication to an end node (EN) based on additional factors in addition to RSSI. Exemplary additional factors include: SNR, gateway loading, message loading, backhaul network loading, device type, application type, application priority, operator preferences, device/application black-lists, white-lists, and red-lists, number of devices, number of transmitting devices in a given time interval, operator rules and priorities. In some embodiments, the network server calculates a composite weighted metric (CWM) for each of the alternative candidate gateways which may be used for downlink, subject to operator policy rules, and selects to use a gateway based on the results, e.g. selects the gateway with the highest CWM.
