Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for communicating healthcare information of a patient using a handheld device including: establishing communication between the handheld device and a management server, sending identifying information for a user of the handheld device to the management server, if the identifying information is authenticated, establishing at least one secured session with the management server, the at least one secured session enabling a user to at least one of: send a message to a user device, wherein the sent message includes at least one of sender information, recipient information and information pertaining to the patient; or receive a message sent from the user device, wherein the received message includes at least one of sender information, recipient information and information pertaining to the patient; wherein the sent and received messages are viewable on the handheld device only during the at least one secured session.
