Abstract: An approach for providing feature configuration management is described. A service controller platform, monitors at least one environmental parameter of a mobile device; determines an event according to a threshold, the event being based on at least a change in the at least one environmental parameter; determines a feature configuration setting associated with at least one of the threshold or the event according to a device profile, wherein the device profile specifies a feature configuration setting that includes at least one of locking the mobile device, limiting access to at least one predetermined application, or disabling the mobile device; and causes the mobile device to change a feature configuration according to the feature configuration setting.

Abstract: A network device receives selection of a widget, for execution at a set-top box (STB) associated with a customer, from multiple widgets stored at a server, where each of the multiple widgets includes a software application that the STB can execute to render graphics or images on a screen or to perform other functions associated with the STB. The network device analyzes information associated with the customer and the widget, and selects an ad for the customer based on the analysis, where the ad relates to a product or service available for purchase. The network device causes the selected widget and the selected ad to be delivered to the STB.

Abstract: A product adaptor of a server receives a request from an interface application associated with the product adaptor. The request includes a request for a subset of all available products that are offered by a communication service provider. The subset of the products includes particular products that a user is permitted to purchase. The product adaptor determining whether a cache of the product adaptor stores a response that satisfies the request based on information in the request. The response includes information about the subset of the products. The product adaptor retrieves the response from the cache of the product adaptor when the cache of the product adaptor stores the response. The product adaptor further transmits the information about the subset of the products to the interface application. The interface application utilizes the information about the subset of the products to offer one or more of the particular products to the user.

Abstract: An approach is described for providing telematics information in connection with equipment. The approach includes scanning equipment available in a service vehicle, wherein the service vehicle is located at a service location. The approach also includes determining location information for the service location based on telematics information associated with the service vehicle. The approach further includes mapping the equipment to the service location based on the location information.

Abstract: A system may include an upgrade server device configured to: establish a session with a user device over a network; receive, from the user device during the session, a request to provide a list of recommended upgrades for a customer; obtain the list of recommended upgrades for the customer; send the list to the user device; and receive, from the user device, an order for one of the recommended upgrades in the list. The system may also include a provisioning system configured to provision a product or service associated with the order.

The device may determine provisioning information based on the provisioning order. The provisioning information may include equipment installation or configuration instructions associated with initiating provisioning of the service to the customer premises.
