  • Patent number: 8924238
Abstract: A method and system for providing healthcare service appointment time and cost estimates at the time of scheduling whereby a healthcare services database is created that includes: data indicating standardized codes associated healthcare services; data indicating the average time associated with healthcare services; data indicating the average cost of the healthcare services. One or more screening questions to be asked a patient at the time of scheduling a healthcare service appointment are then generated that indicate which, if any, of the healthcare services in the healthcare services database may be needed by the patient at the healthcare services appointment.

  • Patent number: 8630448
Abstract: Data indicating a user's desired, and/or mandated/prescribed, dietary guidelines and/or restrictions is obtained from one or more sources and then when the user is frequenting a restaurant, fast food establishment, supermarket, or any other establishment for obtaining food, an optical image of printed or visual nutritional information associated with the food item the user is contemplating purchasing/eating is obtained via one or more user computing systems. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology is then used to transform the printed/visual nutritional information contained in the optical image into discrete nutritional information data. The nutritional information data is then analyzed and compared with the data indicating the user's desired, and/or mandated/prescribed, dietary guidelines and/or restrictions and a recommendation is made to the user as to whether the contemplated food item is a good/acceptable purchase for the user, and/or whether the user should eat/purchase the food item.

  • Patent number: 8407064
Abstract: A method and system for healthcare benefit plan selection determines a healthcare consumer's projected/predicted healthcare service utilization for a defined timeframe using a personalized healthcare service utilization model created based on: general/demographic data associated with the healthcare consumer; the healthcare consumer's historical healthcare service utilization; and the healthcare consumer's personal health profile data. Data associated with the rules governing the operation and use of two or more candidate healthcare benefit plans is also obtained. The operation and rules of use are then applied to healthcare consumer's projected healthcare service utilization for the defined timeframe to create expected healthcare consumer experience model data under each of two or more candidate healthcare benefit plans. In one embodiment, comparison data and/or a plan recommendation is then provided to the healthcare consumer.

  • Patent number: 8392208
Abstract: A method and system for health care expense verification and reimbursement processing includes a process for health care expense verification and reimbursement processing whereby electronic data including data representing health care expense transactions is collected. The electronic data is then analyzed and health care expense transactions that are potentially eligible for reimbursement from a health care expense account are identified. The identified health care expense transactions are then verified as eligible health care expense transactions based on the electronic data collected and/or the source of the data. Data representing the verified health care expense transactions is then electronically and automatically made available to a health care expense account program administrator for immediate reimbursement processing.

  • Patent number: 8359210
Abstract: A method and system for providing healthcare expense payment recommendations whereby a computing system implemented data management system, such as a computing system implemented healthcare expense management system is provided and the computing system implemented data management system obtains data indicating that a given healthcare consumer utilizing the computing system implemented data management system has access to a healthcare expense account. The given healthcare consumer incurs a healthcare expense that is potentially eligible for payment using the healthcare expense account. The potentially eligible healthcare expense is then identified by the computing system implemented data management system and the healthcare consumer is prompted to consider using the healthcare expense account to pay the potentially eligible healthcare expense.

  • Patent number: 8280143
Abstract: A system and method for adding check information to an electronic transaction listing whereby a paper check, or copy of a paper check, is scanned into a computing system and converted to an electronic image of the paper check. One or more areas of the image of the paper check are identified and the image of the paper check is sub-divided into image sub-sections based on the content displayed in a given area/sub-section. One or more image sub-sections are copied from the electronic image of the paper check and then added to a check based financial transaction listing in a financial transaction list.

  • Patent number: 7912735
Abstract: A method and system for eligible health care expense identification includes a process for eligible health care expense identification whereby electronic data including data representing health care expense transactions for a defined time frame is accessed. Electronic data representing rules defining eligible health care expenses is then obtained. The electronic data is then analyzed using the electronic data representing the rules defining eligible health care expenses to identify health care expense transactions that are potentially eligible for reimbursement from a health care expense account and/or a tax deduction. A user is then notified of the identified health care expense transactions.

  • Patent number: 7844472
Abstract: A method and system for aggregating and standardizing healthcare quality ratings includes a process for aggregating and standardizing healthcare quality ratings whereby data representing healthcare provider quality ratings is obtained from one or more sources, i.e., parties offering and/or presenting healthcare provider quality ratings data. The data representing healthcare provider quality ratings obtained from one or more sources is then aggregated. The aggregated data representing healthcare provider quality ratings obtained from one or more sources is then standardized and/or normalized to provide a standardized and uniform ratings format/system. The normalized aggregated data representing healthcare provider quality ratings obtained from one or more sources is then stored, for access by authorized parties.

  • Patent number: 7783567
Abstract: A method and system for migrating transactions, such as bill payment transactions, between payment modules and/or payment processors. Each payment object is set up with payment information input to a payment module and results in one or more transactions. During a selective migration, each transaction is treated separately, based on a state of the transaction. A transaction that has either not been yet submitted, or has been completed can be migrated directly, while a transaction that is in some state of processing is iteratively migrated as it completes processing.
