  • Publication number: 20250039098
Abstract: Examples pertaining to optimization of delivery of extended reality (XR) traffic over a wireless link in mobile communications are described. An application implemented in a user equipment (UE) communicates with a network to transmit and receive one or more media units (MUs) or application data units (ADUs) of an extended reality (XR) traffic over a wireless link. The apparatus controls one or more aspects of the one or more MUs or ADUs to optimize delivery of the XR traffic.

  • Publication number: 20240283580
Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The method may be performed by a UE. In certain configurations, the UE configures a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process identification (ID) determination mechanism for uplink transmission according to a plurality of parameters. The UE obtains, based on the HARQ process ID determination mechanism and the parameters, a HARQ process ID for each of a plurality of PUSCH transmission occasions. The UE performs an uplink transmission with the PUSCH transmission occasions identified by the HARQ process IDs. The parameters in the HARQ process ID determination mechanism include a parameter total-NrofOccasions-PerCGPeriod representing a total number of available PUSCH transmission occasions in a single configured grant (CG) period, and a parameter time-Gap-MultipleOccasions representing a time gap between two successive PUSCH transmission occasions.

  • Publication number: 20240113983
Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. In certain configurations, the UE determines whether a discarding mechanism is to be applied to a video stream. When the discarding mechanism is to be applied to the video stream, for each video frame of a plurality of frames of the video stream, the UE allocates data of the each video frame to corresponding data units, and assigns a priority level to each unit of the corresponding data units based on an attribute of the each video frame. The UE determines that a communication link for transmitting the plurality of video frames is congested. The UE discards data units of the plurality of video frames based on priority levels of the data units.

  • Patent number: 11563829
Abstract: Various examples and schemes pertaining to simple Ethernet header compression are described. A first network node transmits a first packet with a full header to a second network node. The first network node determines whether a header compression context for the full header has been established by the second network node. In response to determining that the header compression context for the full header has been established by the second network node, the first network node transmits a second packet with a compressed header to the second network node. In response to determining that the header compression context for the full header has not been established by the second network node, the first network node transmits the second packet or a third packet with the full header to the second network node.

  • Publication number: 20200136779
Abstract: Various examples and schemes pertaining to overhead reduction in transmission of small Ethernet packets are described. When an apparatus receives a first packet over a wired link, with the first packet comprising a plurality of data bits and one or more first padding bytes, the apparatus removes the one or more first padding bytes from the first packet to provide an unpadded packet. The apparatus then transmits the unpadded packet over a wireless link. When the apparatus receives a second packet over the wireless link, the apparatus inserts one or more second padding bytes into the second packet to provide a padded packet having a length equal to a predefined minimum desired packet length. The apparatus also transmits the padded packet over the wired link.

  • Publication number: 20180124634
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for data transmission prioritization in a communication device. The method can include receiving multiple streams of data units. Each stream of data units has a prioritized bit rate (PBR), a priority value, and a variable (Bj) representing a number of bits that are to be prioritized for transmission of data units of the respective stream. The method can further include allocating transmission resources to streams having a variable (Bj) larger than zero in an order based on the priority values for transmission of data units during a TTI up to a size of available data units in the respective stream, and allocating remaining transmission resources to streams having a variable Bj smaller than zero in an order based on the priority values for transmission data units during the TTI up to a size of available data units in the respective stream.

  • Patent number: 5499373
Abstract: Data to be processed is stored within data files 20. Associated with each data file 20 is a header file 18. The header files 18 store data specifying a wide range of attributes of the data within the data files 20. A user selects a particular signal processing function 14 that he desires to use and this then accesses one or mope selected data files 20 and associated header files 18. The selected signal processing tool 14 only needs a set of the attributes stored within the header files 18. The signal processing tool 14 reads those attributes it requires and then manipulates the data within the data file 20. The provision of this structure allows a wide range of signal processing function tools to be integrated into a single system which may also be simply expanded.
