  • Patent number: 11564245
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink grant via downlink control signaling for a cell group. The UE may determine an uplink error rate for the cell group based on the downlink control signaling. The UE may identify a radio link failure condition for uplink based on the uplink error rate exceeding an uplink error rate threshold. The UE may transmit a radio link failure indication indicating that the radio link failure condition is based on the uplink error rate. The network may send a cell group reconfiguration message to the UE to release the cell group.

  • Patent number: 11304198
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described Generally, the described techniques provide for dynamically adjusting PDCP data splitting based on traffic parameters. In some examples, a wireless device may allocate data between first and second radio access technologies. The wireless device may receive a first set of data traffic parameters from a medium access control layer at the wireless device, where the data traffic parameters are associated with the first radio access technology. The wireless device may receive a second set of data traffic parameters from a medium access control layer at a second wireless device, where the data traffic parameters are associated with the second radio access technology. The wireless device may adjust the data allocation to the first and second radio access technologies based on receiving the first and second sets of data traffic parameters.

  • Patent number: 10819524
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices of the various embodiments provide for header extension preservation, security, authentication, and/or protocol translation for Multipath Real-Time Transport Protocol (MPRTP). Various embodiments include methods that may be implemented in a processor of a computing device for MPRTP transmission of Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) packets. Various embodiments may include receiving an RTP packet in which the received RTP packet may be part of an RTP stream that may be protected using secure RTP (SRTP), and applying an authentication signature to the RTP packet to authenticate an MPRTP header extension separate from a body of the RTP packet. Various embodiments may include sending and/or receiving MPRTP subflows of an MPRTP session in which a same security context may be applied across all MPRTP subflows of the MPRTP session.

  • Patent number: 9918271
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a moving user equipment (UE) or an application operable in a wireless communications network and methods in which an apparatus for wireless communication is configured to adaptively adjust a barred time for the moving UE by obtaining a dynamic characteristic of the moving UE; adjusting the barred time associated with the moving UE based on the dynamic characteristic to yield an adjusted barred time; applying the adjusted barred time to a resource management protocol; and executing the resource management protocol in a first wireless network in accordance with the adjusted barred time to access a first cell in the first wireless network.

  • Patent number: 9743330
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for wireless communications are disclosed. For example, one method includes detecting a procedure and determining the procedure is a qualifying procedure. The method further includes detecting one or more handover events indicative of handover procedures, where the handover procedures interfere with the execution of the qualifying procedure. The method also includes comparing a radio frequency condition of the communication between a user equipment and a source access point with a threshold value based on the radio frequency condition and delaying handover procedures for a predefined time based on the comparison, wherein the delaying of the handover procedures occurs when the detected procedure is the qualifying procedure and when the radio frequency condition satisfies a threshold that is based on the threshold value.

  • Patent number: 8447291
Abstract: In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) determines that a client application has entered a period of transmission inactivity whereby the UE will not be required to transmit data on behalf of the client application. The UE selectively transmits a transmission inactivity notification to an access network (AN) to notify the AN of the transmission inactivity period. The AN receives the transmission inactivity notification and determines to transition the UE from a first state to a second state based at least in part on the received transmission inactivity notification, the second state associated with lower-power consumption of the UE than the first state. The AN sends instructions to the UE to facilitate the transition of the UE from the first state to the second state. In another embodiment, the AN can send instructions to the UE to prohibit the UE from sending transmission inactivity notifications.
