  • Publication number: 20140372492
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include a method and system for sharing changes made by an application to a file on one computer, coherently with other computers, over the Internet. if the application changes multiple files (also referred to as a file group), changes made to all the files are shared together coherently with other computers over the Internet. Coherence over multiple file copies and file group copies is maintained whether users work on files online or offline. A ‘File Upload Lock’ is maintained on a Cloud Server for ensuring coherent sharing of changes made to files. Embodiments include two file syncing processes, variously described as ‘Incremental File Upload’ or ‘Incremental File Download’ and ‘Delta File Upload’ or ‘Delta File Download’. Embodiments also encompass an ‘Explorer’ software tool and user interface that displays folders and files on user devices with pertinent details from the device and the Cloud Server.

  • Patent number: 8581584
Abstract: The invention relates to the atomistic functional understanding of the M2 protein from the influenza A virus. This acid-activated selective proton channel has been the subject of numerous conductance, structural, and computational studies. Previously, little was known at the atomic level about the heart of the functional mechanism of this tetrameric protein, a tetrad of HxxxW residues. The structure of the M2 conductance domain in a lipid bilayer is disclosed and displays the defining features of the native protein that have not been attainable from structures solubilized by detergents. A detailed mechanism for acid activation and proton conductance, involving a strong hydrogen bond between two adjacent histidines and specific interactions with the tryptophan gate, is provided and elucidates many observations on the M2 proton conductance.

  • Patent number: 7389412
Abstract: A wireless data network process and system are provided based on a network with prior network-based authentication of a connected mobile node (MN) and with a network connection to a packet gateway node (PGN). The method and system establish and use an authentication mechanism between the MN and the PGN using the network connection. An encrypted channel is then set up between the MN and the PGN based on authentication established with the authentication mechanism. Configuration data is sent from the PGN to the MN using the encrypted channel. The configuration data may then be used by the MN for communication to and from the MN with the PGN via an access point. Any network connected to the PGN via any access point may then be used.

  • Publication number: 20030031151
Abstract: A wireless data network process and system is provided including a mobile node with a wireless transceiver, a serving GPRS support node (SGPRS) a radio access network and a gateway GPRS including a packet gateway node (PGN) with an internet connection. The PGN acts as a mobile IP home agent (HA) with authentication of a MN handled by the GPRS/UMTS network before the PGN ever sees data traffic to establish a Mobile IP authentication key. An unauthenticated key exchange method such as Diffie-Hellman, the MVQ protocol or its one-pass variant (without certificates), or the Key Exchange Algorithm can be used to establish the shared key. The process may include performing a key exchange between the MN and the PGN via radio waves, the GPRS support node and the connection to establish a shared secret key and to establish an IPsec Security Association (SA) between the MN and the PGN.

  • Patent number: 5812812
Abstract: A method and system of implementing an early data dependency resolution mechanism for a high-performance data processing system that utilizes out-of-order instruction issue is disclosed. In accordance with the present disclosure, an instruction cache and a register-dependency cache are provided. The instruction cache has multiple cache lines, and each of these cache lines is capable of storing multiple instructions. The register-dependency cache contains an identical number of cache lines as in the instruction cache, and each of the cache lines within the register-dependency cache is capable of storing an identical number of register-dependency units as instructions in each of the cache lines within the instruction cache. In a single processor cycle, a group of register-dependency units are fetched from the register-dependency cache. All register-dependency units that have no forward data dependency within the group of register-dependency units are identified utilizing an Instruction Dispatch Unit.
