    Abstract: Techniques for managing synchronization of datasets stored in multiple memory locations are disclosed. A system maintains a reference dataset and a computational dataset corresponding to the reference dataset in different memory locations. In response to detecting an update to a reference dataset, a system detects an execution status of a computational process that uses the computational dataset. Based on the execution status of the computational process, the system determines whether to update the reference dataset or refrain from updating the reference dataset.

    Abstract: A system that partially synchronizes data items of a computational dataset with updated data items of a reference dataset in response to determining that execution of one or more computational processes is planned is disclosed. The system identifies data items in the computational dataset that are expected to be accessed by the planned computational processes when executed. The system then partially synchronizes the identified data items by updating data items in the computational dataset based on corresponding data items from the reference dataset. Data items in the computational dataset that are not expected to be accessed by the planned computational processes are excluded from synchronization.

    Abstract: Techniques for determine tax information for an entity based in part on plotting an entity address into one of a set of polygons respectively associated with taxing jurisdictions are disclosed. Initially, the system partitions a geographical region into a plurality of polygons based on geospatial files. The polygons correspond to taxing jurisdictions. The system determines geographical coordinates for an address, e.g. residence of an entity, employee, and the geographical coordinates are used to plot the first address within the geographical region. The system identifies the polygons that include the address and determines the tax jurisdictions corresponding to the polygons. Based on the tax jurisdictions and tax attributes of the entity, the system calculates a set of tax information for the entity that are presented to a user for viewing.
