    Abstract: Provided are high power PLC optical Tx module and PLC optical Tx/Rx module. The PLC optical Tx/Rx module is located in an OLT of a PON system. The high power PLC optical Tx/Rx module includes a photodiode, a laser diode, an SOA, an optical coupler, and a PLC platform. The photodiode converts an input optical signal into an electrical signal, and the laser diode generates an optical signal of a predetermined wavelength. The SOA amplifies the optical signal generated by the laser diode, and the optical coupler couples optical signals, outputs the coupled signal to a splitter, divides an optical signal from the slitter, and outputs the divided signals to the photodiode. The PLC platform incorporates the photodiode, the laser diode, the SOA, and the optical coupler into one package to allow an optical signal to be output with high power.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a diffusion sheet for use in a backlight unit of a TFT-LCD. Specifically, this invention provides a diffusion sheet including a transparent base sheet, a light-diffusing layer laminated on one surface of the base sheet, and an antiblocking layer laminated on the other surface of the base sheet, the base sheet satisfying a refractive index represented by a predetermined equation. According to this invention, the diffusion sheet for a display can uniformly diffuse light, which is radiated from a light source lamp positioned at a side surface or the back surface of the display, while passing such light therethrough, thus obtaining clear display images, resulting in increased total light transmittance, light diffusibility, and luminance.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a light-diffusing film for a backlight unit of a thin film transistor-liquid crystal display. Specifically, the current invention provides a light-diffusing film, including a transparent base sheet, a light-diffusing layer, which is laminated on any one surface of the base sheet and includes a light-diffusing resin and light-diffusing particles, and an antiblocking layer, which is laminated on the other surface of the base sheet and includes an antiblocking resin and antiblocking particles, in which the light-diffusing particles satisfy a predetermined relation between a specific surface area and a radius thereof. Accordingly, the light-diffusing film of the current invention can uniformly diffuse light transmitted from a light source lamp positioned at the side surface or back surface of a display device, thus realizing vivid and distinct display images.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a light-diffusing sheet, composed of a base sheet including a synthetic resin and organic particles or inorganic particles, in which voids are formed around the organic or inorganic particles, a light-diffusing layer laminated on one surface of the base sheet, and an antiblocking layer laminated on the other surface of the base sheet. In the light-diffusing sheet of this invention, since the voids are formed around the organic or inorganic particles in the base sheet, light transmittance and light diffusibility are increased via maximizing scattering and reflection upon passing light through the base sheet, in particular, the voids, thus providing a light-diffusing sheet capable of increasing the light efficiency of a backlight unit. Thereby, in the case where the light-diffusing sheet of this invention is applied to a backlight unit of a TFT-LCD, vivid and distinct images are realized throughout the surface of the display.

    Abstract: A video device having a priority-based recording function and a control method for the same are disclosed in which timer recording is performed based on user preferences. First, recording priority of a specific program for timer or immediate recording is set. When the time to perform the timer or immediate recording is reached, it is determined whether or not at least one program preset for timer recording, which has a higher recording priority than the specific program and which have not yet been recorded, is present. If the at least one program is present, the sum of a memory capacity required for the specific program and a memory capacity required for the at least one program is compared with an available memory capacity of the video device. The specific program is recorded if the sum of the memory capacities is less than or equal to the available memory capacity.

The apparatus for determining a remote fault of subscriber terminals includes: a frequency analysis unit recognizing a fault occurrence of a subscriber terminal from an upstream signal and analyzing the frequency spectrum of the upstream signal; and a fault determination unit selecting a specific frequency corresponding to the shape of the spectrum, determining a diagnosis signal corresponding to the specific frequency, transmitting a message requesting to upward transmit the diagnosis signal to each ONT, finding a peak frequency from the frequency spectrum of the diagnosis signal transmitted by the ONT, determining a fault of the subscriber terminal by comparing the peak frequency with the selected specific frequency.
